Two drivers celebrate birthdays and Feature wins
What are the odds of notching a Feature win on your birthday? Better yet, what
are the odds of two drivers taking the checkers on their birthday? It happened
or Richard Mellor with his first win in the 125cc Class and celebrating
his 17th birthday.
Rich was followed over the finish line by multiple Feature winner Barry
Pollard.
In the 250/270cc Class, David Reinhardt picked up his Feature win on his 20th
birthday. Visitor, Scott Fick pressured Reinhardt during the closing laps to the
Checkered Flag but Reinhard held on for the win.
Bryan Radcliff picked up his first win going wire to wire over Luke Thomas in
the 250cc Stock Class Feature. Marco Michetti, Todd Elwell and Charles Chance
rounded out the top five.
In the 600cc Class, it was Bill Unglert picking up the win and holding off Racin'
Randy Oswald. Next under the flag were Stewart Carmichael, Andrew Hannula and
Jimmy Cammock.
The 125cc Wingless winner-take-all race had Andy Locuson taking the win.

RACE REPORT - 5/20/06
Boyce, Pollard, Elwell and Moench take this week's Features
Dave Falini and Josh Martin had the front row for the 250/270cc Feature.
However, Falini jumped the start thus moving the #35 of Drew Boyce to the pole
for the restart. Boyce was up to the challenge forthe 25 laps and held the
lead for his first win of the season. Following Boyce across the line were
Jimmy Tippin, David Reinhardt, Ken Andreas and Jesse Harper.
In the 125cc Feature, Ralph Parks took the lead on the start. Courtney Johnson
was in pursuit along with the popular #28A of Barry Pollard. The race was Red
Flagged on lap 9 as Brad Wright tangled with the cars of Zach Short and
Phil Durham causing him to go hard into the wall just off turn four. Wright was
removed from his car and transported to the care of the on site EMT staff. He
was later taken to Christiana Hospital for a check up.
On lap 15, Pollard made his move taking over the lead and his third
feature win. Following Pollard under the Checkers was the #3J of Courtney
Johnson.
Todd Elwell picked up the win in the 250cc Stock Class Feature. Starting on the
pole he made it look easy while suffering thru several Yellow Flag restarts.
Bob DeVault, who started in the 20th position climbed the ladder to a great
finish run in second.
The 600cc Class took the Green Flag with rookie Justin Moench on the pole. In
just his 4th start in this very competitive Class, Moench held off all
challengers thru several Yellow Flag restarts to pick up his very first micro
win. John Pruitte came home in second place.
This week's wingless winner-take-all event featured the 250/270cc Class. It was
eight cars for ten laps with Jesse Harper walking off with the winner's prize
money.

MICRO SPRINT RACE RESULTS - 5/13/06
Oswald, Davis, A. Locuson and Keller Jr take Features Brobst victorious in
wingless event
In the 600cc Feature, Chris Allen Jr., and Racin' Randy Oswald brought the field
to the Green Flag. Allen grabbed the lead on the start and held it through
several Yellow Flag restarts. However, on lap 13, Allen spun his #71 in
turn two handing the lead to Oswald. Following closely at the finish in second
position was Bill Thomas and Angelo Mercado, third.
The 250/270cc Feature was won by Bryant Davis. Davis and Todd Elwell squared
off on the front row with Davis grabbing the lead on the start. Davis's mount
held off several challenges from Elwell during the event, but Davis was up to
all of them and was first under the checkers. It was Elwell, Drew Boyce and Ken
Andreas following.
Barry Pollard was all set to celebrate his third 125cc Feature victory, but it
was not meant to be. Pollard had command of the field for 22 laps of the
Feature over Andy Locuson. However, on lap 23, Pollard's motor siezed exiting
turn 4 handing the lead over to Locuson who was delighted to pick up the win.
Carl Locuson led the 250cc Stock Feature on the start followed by Rich Keller
Jr.
Several Yellow Flags prevented the completion of a first lap. When the
field finally put the first lap in the books, leader Locuson allowed Keller to
sweep under him to grab the lead. From there to the Checkered Flag it was
Keller, Jr out front by several car lengths and picking up the win.
Completing the night's events was the "bonus feature"....an 8 lap
winner-take-all duel for the wingless 600s. Picking up the $60 payout was
Middletown's Eric Brobst.

POLLARD IS TWO FOR TWO IN THE WIN COLUMN
May 6, 2006.....In the 125CC Class Barry Pollard notched his second win of the
young season. Pollard took the lead from pole sitter Courtney Johnson on
lap 13 as Johnson had trouble getting thru heavy traffic. Johnson held on,
however, for second place at the checkers.
Sam Locuson and Bob DeVault headed the 250cc Stock Class to the Green Flag.
Locuson's lead was short lived as his car developed mechanical problems on lap 5
handing the lead to DeVault. DeVault was chased to the finish by Richie
Keller III.
The 600cc Feature was all Angelo Mercado. Taking the lead from Bill Unglert at
the drop of the Green Flag, Mercado's only narrow escape came on lap 12 as John
Pruitte spun directly in front of him bringing out the Yellow.
Jimmy Tippin picked up the win in the 270cc Class as he went wire to wire over
Todd Elwell.
The "added bonus" wingless race this week was handled by the 250cc Stock Class.
Eight cars went for the $80 prize money. Lap 7, however, saw Todd Elwell's #19T
take a series of wild tumbles down the front stretch. Todd escaped with no
injuries.
