Jersey Legends – Pauch and Horton – Close out 2006 with Turkey Chase
Victories
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (November 18, 2006) – Two of the greatest drivers in New Jersey
racing history, battled tooth and nail in a pair of Modified feature events with
Frenchtown, NJ’s Billy Pauch taking home the Big Block Modified feature event
and Neshanic Station, NJ’s Jimmy Horton capturing the Small Block Modified
feature event, as Camden Iron presented an exciting night of racing at the
Bridgeport Speedway.
“We had a shot at Jimmy [Horton] in the first feature event, until the power
steering blew” Pauch said. “This one was the same way, we were going for the
lead and there was a little bump and grind – you push these cars all the way and
not mess up, it came down to the wire. I hope we gave these fans some good
racing.”
Billy Pauch used a spin and win to pick up the victory in the 40 lap Big Block
Modified event in dramatic fashion. Steve Bottcher kicked off the lead early in
the Supreme Manufacturing #27 Teo Pro Car, but it wasn’t long before the Grosso
Trucking #r24 of Jimmy Horton powered passed on the third circuit – leading the
way until lap fifteen when Wade Hendrickson dove to the inside taking the lead,
in a bold move that left Bottcher in the middle of a three wide battle. Horton
stayed on Hendrickson’s bumper with the Small Block Modified of Rick Laubach
closing on the front runners. A lap 18 yellow gave Laubach the opportunity to
pounce. He slid under Hendrickson entering one and emerged from turn two as the
new leader, with the fans on their feet the two made contact halfway down the
backstretch and the Sal Debruno owned O car slammed the wall in turn three. Both
machines were retired for the evening. Horton inherited the lead on the restart
with Bottcher in second and Billy Pauch returning from an early race spin to the
third position. Pauch slipped passed Bottcher on the lap 28 restart and led the
Lincoln Auto Body #5 machine underneath Horton. The two battled side-by-side for
the lead, as they have so many times before, slicing and dicing with Horton on
the high side and Pauch leading around the bottom. A caution with three laps
remaining bunched the field for the final time Pauch making a perfect move into
turn 1 barely edged passed Horton and slid up the race track capturing the lead
and easily going on to the victory. Horton settled for second followed by Steve
Durand in third, Steve Bottcher in fourth and Kevin Hirthler rounding out the
top five.
Neshanic Station, New Jersey’s Jimmy Horton dominated the 25-lap event Open
Competition Small Block Modified event. “The Flyin’ Farmer” Wade Hendrickson
kicked off the pace launching to the early lead aboard Jake Marine’s J&M Roofing
#85 Teo Machine – but sidelined the machine on the sixth circuit. Horton
inherited the lead and held off a hard charge from Frenchtown, NJ’s Billy Pauch.
Pauch slipped inside the leader at the lap 18 mark and the two swapped paint
slowing “The Kid.” Horton put the pedal to the metal and never looked back,
picking up his second consecutive Turkey Chase Weekend victory. Rick Laubach
slipped passed and took the runner-up spot over Billy Pauch, Richie Pratt, Jr.
and Carmine Infante.
Barnsboro, NJ’s young sensation “The Thrill” Jesse Hill captured his fourth
victory of the season in the Open Competition Sportsman division. Hill’s N.A.P.
Electrical Contractors #99H overtook the lead from invader Mike Lyons on the
sixth circuit of the event and held off Lyons through numerous caution flags.
Lyons settled for the second position followed by: Dave Hunt, Pat Conaway and
Billy Tanner IV.
Milford, De’s Jordan Watson led his ReMax #30 machine to his first Bridgeport
Speedway victory in the Sunoco Crate Sportsman division. Watson powered around
the outside of early race leader John Micek on the eighth circuit of the 20 lap
event and remained unchallenged, easily picking up the victory. Rookie
sensation, Travis Hill powered around the outside of 2006 Sunoco Sportsman
Champion, Todd Kuhl to pick up the second position followed by John Micek and
Mike Barone.
Pat Conaway captured the victory in the 20 lap Outlaw Stock feature event.
Conaway overtook Jim Honaker on lap six of the event and easily rolled on to
victory. Pat Hires finished in the second position followed by Honaker, Ken
Watson and Joe Ecret.

Howard Slips by at the Last Minute to Claim Added Bonus Modified Feature
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (October 21, 2006) – It was Oley, PA’s, Duane Howard, who led the
BPG Racing/Chad Sinon Motorsports #4 machine to victory lane at South Jersey’s
Bridgeport Speedway this past Saturday Night, capturing the $2500 prize in a
last minute added 25 Lap Big Block Modified feature event.
“I just have to thank Chad Sinon for everything he’s allowed us to do this
season,” Howard stated in post-race ceremonies after capturing his fourth Big
Block Modified feature event win of the season. “We’ve had a great year, this is
going to be hard to top.”
Howard’s battle to the front in the 25 lap event came with strong challenges
from Bridgeport regulars and a few outside invaders alike, including Richie
Pratt Jr. Pratt, coming off a sweep in last weekend’s events at the Georgetown
Speedway, selected the pole position in the 11 driver re-draw and kicked off the
field in fine fashion with Jimmy Chester along the outside in the runner-up
position. It wasn’t long before Pratt pulled away with the #901 Bicknell machine
with an almost full straight-a-way lead over Chester and invaders Jamie Mills
and Ryan Godown. Howard quickly powered into the top five by the lap 15 mark,
and snuck inside Pratt for the lead on lap 18 -- battling in and out of lapped
traffic without the help of yellow flags. The first caution came on the 20th
circuit for a slowing Pete VIsconti, stacking the field Pratt Jr. slipped by
Howard on the restart, but wasn’t able to hold off the 2006 Big Block Modified
Champion as Howard edged passed Pratt for the final time on the final lap of the
event. Pratt would settle for second followed by Jamie Mills, Ryan Godown and
Steve Bottcher rounding out the top five.
Bound Brook, NJ’s Rich Scagliotta captured the victory in the Open Competition
Sportsman division. Scagliotta inherited the lead after early race leader John
Stangle pulled pitside; and held off strong charges from both Jesse Hill and
Kevin Collins – both of whom suffered flat tires while challenging Scagliotta.
This marks Scagliotta’s first ever victory at the Bridgeport Speedway. Billy
Tanner, Art Liedl, Frank Dorry, Jr., and Bob Lineman, Jr. completed the top five
finishers.
Milford, DE’s Modified hotshoe “Jammin’” Jamie Mills climbed aboard a Sunoco
Sportsman mount that his team had built and captured the 25 lap feature event.
Mills held off Pat Hires to capture the victory. Hires would land in the second
position with rookies Brett Ballard and Jerry Carter rolling home third and
fourth and John Gray completing the top five.
Limited Sprint top gun, Tim Iulg dominated the 25 lap feature event, maintaining
a ten second lead over second place finisher TJ Petroni at the drop of the
checkered flag. Petroni would roll home second, with JJ Grasso in third, Doug
Smith in fourth and Sean Carman rounding out the top five.
Ken Watson was the victor in the 25 lap Outlaw Stock feature event, holding off
Mike Rudolph to pick up his first victory of the 2006 season. Joe Trumbetti came
home in third followed by Mike Hires and Jim Honaker.

Pennsylvania Invaders, VonDohren and Strunk Take Home $5000 Modified Victories!
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (October 8, 2006) – It was a great day for racing at the
Bridgeport Speedway as drivers from five states participated in the Atlantic
Coast Championship Weekend presented by BPG Racing/Chad Sinon Motorsports, R.E.
Pierson Construction Co. and American Racer/Lias Tire. While the Bridgeport
Badboys ran strong all day long it was a pair of Pennsylvania Invaders taking
home the big bucks as Oley, Pa’s Craig VonDohren picked up the $5000 in the Big
Block Modified Feature event and Bethel, Pa’s Jeff Strunk captured $5000 in
green in the 358 Small Block Modified Feature event.
“Chad [Sinon] gives me everything I need to run well, no matter where we go,” an
elated VonDohren said of his car owner. “We’ve struggled the other times we’ve
come here and it’s good to get a win.”
Struggle is an understatement. In VonDohren’s initial venture to Bridgeport his
BPG Racing #1c machine left unrecognizable after a heat race incident and while
powering up to the third position in his second outing, “CVD” suffered motor
problems.
It was a different story today though, VonDohren chased his BPG Racing/Chad
Sinon Motorsports teammate, Duane Howard, during the early stages of the 50 lap
feature event, as Howard attempted to unseat early race leader Jeff Strunk
aboard the Glenn Hynemann owned #126. However, when Strunk’s motor expired with
15 laps remaining, it opened the doors for TEAM BPG to stop the show. As
VonDohren and Howard battled nose to tail, edging around the bottom of the famed
South Jersey 5/8th mile speedway the battle was fierce for third as Gary Hager,
Wade Hendrickson and Richie Pratt, Jr. all fought for a piece of the action. The
gang bunched up again on lap 42 when the 2006 Modified Champion, Howard, lost a
right rear tire sending the “Red Rocket” #4 machine to the pit area. A lap 43
double file restart allowed VonDohren to pull away from the field and gave “The
Medford MadDog” Mike Iles the opportunity to bounce from the his fifth starting
position to the runner-up spot. It was easily VonDohren at the checkered flags
picking up his 14th victory at Bridgeport, and his first since the year 2000.
Iles grabbed the second position after qualifying in the consolation event, Wade
Hendrickson brought the Sal DeBruno owned “O-Car” home in third followed by:
Gary Hager in an awesome fourth place finish and Richie Pratt, Jr., rounding out
the top five.
Despite a hard charge from Jeff Strunk, it appeared as if Frenchtown, NJ’s Billy
Pauch would pick up the victory in the 358 Small Block Modified feature event.
Pauch took advantage of a great starting position and quickly led the Norm’s
Save Station #357 machine to the front of the field, pulling a 1/2
straight-a-way lead over the Bethel, PA native. Strunk aboard the Gold Rush
Trailer #88 Teo Pro Car, closed on leader Pauch, and moved underneath the
veteran racer. However, when Pauch’s machine suffered mechanical problems on lap
47 of 50, Strunk inherited the lead and charged away at a rapid pace, with Duane
Howard quickly closing and Keith Hoffman following in suit. Lapped traffic
became the only issue as Strunk, Howard and Hoffman battled won to the checkered
flag. It was Strunk edging Howard at the line and capturing the victory. Howard
would settle for second followed by: Keith Hoffman, Jimmy Chester and Mario
Page.
Laurel, DE’s Kevin Collins dominated the 30 Lap Open Competition Sportsman
feature event. Collins launched his Bo’s Construction #126 from the pole
position and held off a hard charge from veteran racer Mike Lyons in the
relatively caution free event. Lyons would settle for second. John Stangle
rolled home in third, Jimmy Horton IV in the fourth position and Jesse Hill
rounded out the top five finishers.
Barnsboro, NJ’s Jesse “The Thrill” Hill edged passed Eric Vent on the 29th of 30
laps in the Sunoco Crate Sportsman division. Hill, who has captured three
victories in the 358 Small Block division, climbed aboard his brother, Travis
Hill’s N.A.P. Electrical Contractors #99H to pick up his first victory in his
first race in the division. Joe Watson came home in second followed by Eric
Vent, Jordan Watson finished in the fourth position and 2006 Rookie Champion,
Dan Mason rounded out the top five.
2006 Limited Sprint Champion, Tim Iulg eased his way through lapped traffic in
the later stages of the 25 Lap Limited Sprint feature event to take home the
victory, maintaining a 6.5 second lead over 2005 Limited Sprint Champion, Jim
Wyers at the drop of the checkered. Wyers would come home in second, Dave Brown
finished in third with Jeff Mueller and Kevin Darling rounding out the top five
finishers.
2006 Outlaw Stock Champion, Pat Conaway did almost the un-thinkable during
Sunday’s 25 Lap Outlaw Stock Feature event, Conaway, who has captured 21
victories in his two years of competition managed to lap the entire field.
Conaway put second place finisher Dave Page, one lap down with two laps
remaining in the event. Page would come home in second followed by Joe Trumbetti,
Jesse Degarmo and Ron Dirkes finishing out the top five finishers.

Iles and Stravinsky Capture Non-Winners Events – Over 150 Cars Attempt to
Qualify
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (October 7, 2006) – With rain saturating the speedway into the
early afternoon, few expected that there would be any racing on the famed South
Jersey 5/8th mile clay oval, but the track crew worked hard and provided a great
track surface and excellent racing, as BPG Racing, American Racer Tire and R.E.
Pierson Construction Company presented a great day of racing at the Bridgeport
Speedway.
Medford, NJ’s Mike Iles finally led the #711 to victory as only six of
twenty-one registered competitors participated in a 12 lap Big Block Modified

qualifying the “Medford Maddog” for the event. Following Iles at the line were:
Mark Byram, Mario Page, Jack Hartnett and Steve Lozorak.
Gene Stravinsky of New Egypt, NJ captured the victory in the Sportsman
Non-Winners event edging out Rich Coons by 4/1000th of a second. Dave Seip led
the Mike Lyons’ owned machine to a third place finish followed by Chris Clanden
and former Bridgeport Micro Sprint stand-out Frank Venezia rounded out the top
five.
Lawrenceville, NJ’s Wade Hendrickson captured both the 358 Small Block Modified
and Big Block Modified Dash for Cash events picking up a cool $300 for the three
lap efforts.
Events kick off early Sunday Morning. Gates open at 10:00 AM, with a Pre-Race
Pit Party behind the grandstands at 11:00 AM. The top four finishers in each
qualifying event will be on hand to re-draw for feature starting positions.

Hendrickson Heads to $4,000 Win – Creeden takes ROC Sportsman
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (August 27, 2006) – Lawrenceville, NJ’s Wade Hendrickson
continued his Bridgeport hot streak, this past Sunday. Wade led Sal Debruno’s
Overhead Doors of South Jersey “O-Car” to victory lane for the sixth time of the
season, overtaking the invaders and taking home a cool four grand.
“I’m glad we put a spanking on those other cars,” Hendrickson stated of the
group of drivers that don’t regularly compete at Bridgeport. “We defended our
home turf.”
Hendrickson launched from the front row of the twenty-four car Big Block
Modified field and set a rapid pace right from the get-go – with fellow
Bridgeport mainstay, Richie Pratt Jr. right on his tail in the second position,
but it wouldn’t be long before defending champion Oley, PA’s Duane Howard would
show his face in the mix aboard the BPG Racing/Chad Sinon Motorsports mount.
Howard charged into the second position followed quickly by his teammate Craig
VonDohren. The BPG contingent hoped to double team the leader, Hendrickson until
VonDohren’s #1C machine suffered mechanical problems with ten laps remaining.
The re-start offered Howard the opportunity to pounce on Hendrickson, but “The
Flyin’ Farmer” would easily sail on for the victory. Howard rolled home in the
second position, followed by Billy Pauch in Will Brown’s #1W Teo machine, Rick
Laubach and Jimmy Horton.
Middletown, NY’s Dan Creeden barely nipped veteran New Jersey racer, Mike Lyons
at the line in the 40-lap Race of Champions dirt Sportsman event. John Stangle,
who captured a Bridgeport victory in the 2005 season, led the early stages of
the event until the Monroe Township racer, Lyons moved in and took over the top
spot with 13 laps remaining. When Creeden moved passed Stangle with 6 laps
remaining the battle tightened up and as the checkered flag flew it was neck and
neck to the finish with Creeden capturing the win by 5/100th of a second. Lyons
settled for second, John Stangle in third, Eric Kormann the first Bridgeport
regular in fourth and Jack Swain rounding out the top five.

Hendrickson Hot, Grabs Number Five at Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, NEW JERSEY (August 19, 2006) – It was Lawrenceville, NJ’s “The Flyin’
Farmer”, Wade Hendrickson leading the Sal DeBruno owned famed “O-Car” to victory
lane for the fifth time in the 2006 season as Carquest Auto Parts and MSP
Equipment Rental presented a lightning fast night of racing at the Bridgeport
Speedway.
“Starting fourth never hurts,” a calmed Hendrickson stated as his car owner
grabbed him for a big hug in victory lane ceremonies. “It was still, good racing
– Tommy Ballard (crew chief) made a whole bunch of wild changes, I just drove as
hard as I could.”
Hendrickson moved to the far outside of the race track at the start of the
25-lap Big Block Modified feature event, and moved around, early race leader,
Billy Chester to take the top spot on the third circuit. Hendrickson settled in
as the main man, dominating the event until a caution at the half-way point
stacked the field and opened a door for Modified Rookie Richie Pratt, Jr. and
Lehighton, PA’s Steve Bottcher. Diving into turn 1 three wide, on the restart,
Hendrickson maintained the first place position, pulling a half-a-straightaway
on second place runner, Richie Pratt Jr. Pratt pulled side-by-side with
Hendrickson with three laps remaining, until Pratt’s machine spontaneously
slowed and retired from the event. Hendrickson would easily cruise on for the
victory, followed by Jimmy Chester, Duane Howard, Rick Laubach and Steve
Bottcher.
Riegelsville, PA’s “Mr. 358” John Pursell picked up his sixth victory of the
2006 season in the 358 Small Block division. The race started off slow, with a
slew of early cautions bogging down the 20 lap feature event. Pursell hustled
his way to the front from a 13th place starting position, moving into second at
lap five and overtaking then leader, Ron Roberts just two laps later. It was
easily Pursell from then on dominating the event and taking the checkers. Eric
Kormann nipped Roberts at the line by 5/100ths of a second, followed by Jesse
Hill, who overcame early night motor problems and rolled home in third in Travis
Hill’s Crate 1 machine, and Dan Cogdill rounded out the top five.
Doylestown, PA’s Todd Kuhl, led the Ryan’s Texaco #1K machine, owned by former
Modified hotshoe, Ryan Kerr; to his sixth victory of the season in the Sunoco
Sportsman division. Kuhl slipped passed early race leader, rookie Bob Bartleson
just prior to the half-way point and easily held on for the victory. Bartleson
would settle for second followed by Mike Hires, Mike Barone and John Micek.
Nice guys finish first in the Outlaw Stock division, as Joe Trumbetti captured
his first victory of the 2006 season. Trumbetti started in the ninth position
and inherited the lead when early race leader Pat Conaway was involved in a four
car accident. It was all Trumbetti from lap 10 on, easily rolling on for the
victory. Gary Klimeczak came home in second followed by Dave Gould, Ken Watson
and Bucky Albright.

Roberts Reaps $1200 358 Win – Iulg Doubles Up for Sprint Seconds
BRIDGEPORT, NEW JERSEY (August 18, 2006) – Newport, DE’s Ron Roberts dominated
the 358 Small Block feature event picking up his first victory of the season and
cashing in for the $1200 top prize. While Bridgeton, NJ’s Tim Iulg captured the
20 lap Limited Sprint event, his second in a row.
Roberts, launched from the pole position in the 25 lap event and set a rapid
pace right from the get-go – but it wouldn’t be easy for the crafty veteran, as
Young Gun, “The Thrill” Jesse Hill set his N.A.P. Electrical Contractors #99H
Bicknell, right on the rear bumper of Roberts’ #z14 machine. It was a battle for
the ages with Hill attempting, various times to sneak underneath Roberts, but it
was Roberts holding off every move and finally dodging in-and-out of lapped
traffic to secure the victory, his first of the season. Hill would roll home in
second position with “The Master Crater” Eric Kormann in the third position as
Jimmy Horton IV and Brian Kressley completed the top five.
Last season, Micro Sprint standout Tim Iulg made his presence known in the
Limited Sprint division and in 2006, Iulg proves that he’s a Sprint Car standout
in the making. The Bridgeton, NJ native led the Deerfield Auto Parts #8s to its
second victory of the season. Sprint rookie, Chuck Palmucci headed out at the
drop of the green and hustled around the top side of the race track setting the
pace in the early stages of the 20 lap feature event, but it was Iulg who showed
his muscle at the half-way point darting inside of Palmucci and overtaking the
top spot; easily riding on to his second consecutive victory. Palmucci would
impress many rolling home in second, followed by defending Champ, Jim Wyers,
Hank Trum and Brian Powell.
Jimmy Carpenter of Manchester, NJ picked up his season first in the 600cc Micro
Sprint division. Carpenter easily set the early pace from the #1 starting
position, holding off Rick Stief and easily rolling on for the victory. Stief
would come home second followed by Nick Schlauch, Bob DeVault and Gary Hunter.
John Blanda captured the victory in the 270cc Micro Sprint feature event in
exciting fashion. Blanda hustled to the front from the 14th starting position,
sweeping four position on a lap 7 restart to take the lead. From there, it was
all Blanda holding off Steve Gaspari to capture his first victory of the season.
DJ Wykes, Joe Kay and Eddie Wagner rounded out the top five finishers.
Brian Crisman set the field on first with his front wheel drive Volkwagen Jetta
#53 in the 4 Cylinder division. Crisman powered his four door, four wide at one
point and overtook then leader, Warren Stradley, with four laps remaining to
roll on to victory lane. Ian Wray had lady luck on his side coming home in the
second position with Stradley, Jimmy Hughes and Dave Damiano completing the top
five.

‘Last Lap’ Pratt Overtakes Kressley – Swanson Grabs Sprint Car First
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (July 28, 2006) – Sewell, NJ’s Richie Pratt Jr. bested Orefield,
PA’s Brian Kressley on the last lap of the 358 Small Block feature event and
Yardville, NJ’s Young Gun Jonathan Swanson captured his first victory in the
Limited Sprint division on a Friday Night at the Bridgeport Speedway
Vineland, NJ’s Rob Pierce launched to the front of the early stages of the 358
Small Block event, until Richie Pratt Jr. overtook the top spot at the lap 10
mark with the Crate 2 King, Brian Kressley right on his rear bumper. Pratt and
Kressley fought tooth and nail; side-by-side for almost 12 laps, with Kressley
overtaking the top spot at the white flag; but it was Richie Pratt Jr. exiting
turn four first and heading down to the checkered flag capturing his second
victory of the season. Rob Pierce settled for third followed by Frank Dorry Jr.
and Drew Ricco rounding out the top five.
Yardville, NJ’s Jonathan Swanson started third on the grid in the Limited Sprint
division and overtook Hilltown, PA’s Torrey Rose with three laps remaining in
the 25 lap event and rode on to pick up the victory, his first of the season.
Andrew Weldon came home in third, Miek Piersig and Tim Iulg rounding out the top
five.
Matt Esham picked up his first career victory in the 600cc Micro Sprint feature
event leading all of the 20 lap feature event. Esham held off a strong charge
from Elkton, MD’s George Ulmer and held a two second lead when the checkered
flag flew. Ulmer settled for second followed by Nick Schlauch, Rick Stief and
Stewart Carmichael.
The only lap Jay Hartman led was the most important one. Brian Morrill led the
entire 270cc Micro Sprint Feature Event only to suffer mechanical problems with
one lap remaining. Handing the lead and the victory over to Jay Hartman. John
Blanda came home in second followed by Joe Kay, Jeff Hartman and Steve Gaspari.

Beamer Shines in Modifieds – Michael Makes It Look Easy in Sprints
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (July 29, 2006) – Williamstown, NJ’s Tommy Beamer collected a
$2500 Big Block Modified payoff in his first Bridgeport Speedway victory, while
Ocean View, DE’s Curt Michael led a field of Winged Warriors to the checkered
flag capturing the URC Sprint Car Feature event on a scorching hot Saturday
Night at the Bridgeport Speedway.
Utilizing a first place starting position, Beamer launched from the initial
start of the event and held off strong challenges from both Gary Hager and Jimmy
Chester. A slew of cautions at the lap nineteen mark, made for an interesting 7
lap shootout – with Duane Howard, Steve Bottcher and Bob Sarkisian all in
position to sneak passed for the victory, but the young Beamer kept his cool and
held on for his first career Bridgeport victory. Gary Hager powered home in
second followed by Jimmy Chester, Bob Sarkisian and Duane Howard rounding out
the top five finishers
Curt Michael started the Paladino #99 URC Sprinter on the pole position, and
much like Beamer dominated the event, leading all 25 laps. Michael weaved in and
out of lapped traffic holding off Greg Covedale and Dave Ely riding on to pick
up the victory. Coverdale and Ely came home second and third respectively and
Jimmy Stitzel and Mark Bitner rounded out the top five.
Folsom, NJ’s Jimmy Horton IV picked up his first victory of the season in the
358 Small Block division, utilizing a 358 Spec motor. The move of the race came
on lap 16 when Horton slowed to tuck in behind a lapped car, as second place
challenger Barnsboro, NJ’s Jesse Hill made contact with Horton IV sending the
#99H spinning to the topside of the race track. Vineland, NJ’s Eric Kormann
overtook the second position and made a strong bid at the lead with two laps
remaining, but to no avail. Kormann settled for second, followed by Billy
Harris, Ron Roberts and Bob Lineman Jr. Jesse Hill rebounded from the encounter
and finished in the 8th position.
Todd Kuhl captured the victory in the Sunoco Sportsman event, picking up his
fourth of the season. Kuhl inherited the lead after the #68 of Mike Hires
retired from the event. Pat Hires rolled home second followed by Mike Fattori –
rebounding from a season of bad luck, Dan Mason and Jon Haegele.

Wyers from Zero to Hero – Kressley the Crate King at Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, NEW JERSEY (July 15, 2006) – Tuckahoe, NJ’s defending Limited Sprint
division champion, Jim Wyers made a costly move last Friday Night, after a
strong fifth place run, that left the sprint hotshoe with a big
disqualification. Wyers made up for it this past Friday in arguably the best
Limited Sprint race of the season to pick up his first victory. Brian Kressley
of Orefield, PA once again dominated the 358 Small Block event picking up the
$1200 top prize, as Carquest Auto Parts presented an exciting night of racing at
the Bridgeport Speedway.
“Sometimes we make mistakes, sometimes we get caught up in other people’s
mistakes,” a cool and collected Wyers explained in Victory Lane. “We just made
the right moves this time.”
The right move came on lap 11, just past the mid-way point, when Wyers dove to
the high side of the super fast 5/8th mile to pass early race leader, Hank Trum
of Boothwyn, PA. With Wyers taking control of the action, Trum had his hands
full with the #21 of Fort Lee, NJ’s Frank Polimeda, who would utilize the same
outside lane to slip passed Trum. Polimeda closed on Wyers but would never
challenge. Wyers rolled on to victory picking up his first of the season and
eighth of his career. Polimeda came home in second followed by Tim Iulg, Hank
Trum and Bob Rasmussen.
Brian Kressley, once again picked up the victory in the 358 Small Block
division. Kressley’s #19B Teo Pro Car was hooked up on a rail, overtaking the
lead after a lap five caution for early race leader Matt Jester. Kressley dove
to the inside passing four cars to overtake the lead. Kressley set the cruise
control and easily rode on to the victory followed by Jesse Hill, Richie Pratt
Jr., Billy Tanner and Rob Pierce.
Twenty-nine 600cc Micro Sprints participated in action, with Bob DeVault
capturing the 20 lap victory. DeVault took off from the pole position and
dominated the event, Sam Casella made a bold last lap pass over Ron Smith to
pick up the second position by inches at the checkered flag. Jimmy Carpenter
came home in fourth and Gary Hunter rolled home in the fifth position.
Hamilton, NJ’s Shaun Ratchford overtook Jeff Hartman on the eighth circuit of
the 20 lap 270cc Micro Sprint feature event, and held off a strong late run
charge from Steve Gaspari to pick his first victory of the 2006 season. Gaspari
would settle for second, followed by Jay Hartman, John Copeland and Spencer
Kelly.
Warren Stradley captured the victory in the 4 Cylinder Stock Car feature event,
holding off a hard charging Brian Crisman at the checkered flag. Crisman rolled
home in second followed by Terry Sammons, Ken Wallace and Ian Wray.
Harry Marlin inched passed Kyle Rohner at the finish line to pick up the victory
in the Slingshot by Tobias feature event. Kyle Ebersole came home in third
followed by Billy and Bill Vaninwegen.

Mueller ‘The Man’ in Sprints – Kressley Tops 358’s, AGAIN!
BRIDGEPORT, NEW JERSEY (July 7, 2006) – Ringoes, NJ’s Jeff Mueller led his #3J
Limited Sprint Car to victory in the 20 lap feature event, becoming the fourth
different division winner in just as many races. Brian Kressley of Orefield, PA,
picked up his second consecutive victory and the $1200 payday in the 358 Small
Block event.
“The track was in excellent shape tonight,” Mueller announced in Victory Lane
Ceremonies. “I really enjoy racing with the guys in this division, but it was
good to pull away and not have to.
Mueller pulled away right from the get-go in the 20 lap, caution free event –
starting second on the grid next to pole sitter Torrey Rose. Mueller passed Rose
exiting turn four to lead the first lap, and never looked back. Mueller set the
cruise and rode right on around on the cushion of the 5/8th mile, and was never
challenged in the event. Dave Brown finished in second followed by Brian Powell,
Doug Smith and Tim Iulg. Jim Wyers, who had finished in the third position, was
disqualified for failure to report to the scales after the event.
Brian Kressley drove around the outside of “The Thrill” Jesse Hill with two laps
remaining to capture the victory in the 358 Small Block feature event. Hill
grabbed the lead on the fourth lap after a hard battle with #4x4 of Matt Jester.
The field was regrouped after a mid-race caution with Hill continuing to lead,
Kressley powered around the outside battling for almost 4 laps door-to-door with
the 19 year old, Barnsboro, NJ native. It would be Kressley pulling almost a
full straight-a-way at the checkered flag. Hill would settle for second position
with Richie Pratt Jr. coming home in third followed by Matt Jester and Dan
Cogdill.
Media, PA young hot shoe Bill Thomas picked up the victory in the 20 lap 600cc
Micro Sprint event, and the $500 top prize presented by JR Michalski Heating and
Air Conditioning. Thomas, who started second in the event grabbed the lead from
pole sitter Rob Vivona, as the two put on a fierce battle for the number one
spot. Lapped traffic helped Thomas get passed the early leader and go on for the
victory, becoming the first repeat winner of the season. Vivona came home in
second, followed by Sam Casella, Stewart Carmichael and Nick Schlauch.
John Copeland captured the win in the 270cc Micro Sprint event, and another $500
top prize posted by JR Michalski Heating and Air Conditioning. Jeff Hartman led
the early stages of the event, however, bad luck once again prevailed over
Hartman’s #026 as he retired early with mechanical problems. Charlie Lamanna led
for two circuits before Copeland would power past for the lead, and go on for
the victory. Jay Hartman came home in second followed by Steve Gaspari, Charlie
Lamanna and DJ Wykes.
Ian Wray was the winner of the 20 lap 4 Cylinder Stock Car Feature event. Wray
snuck past early leader, Terry Sammons on the 18th circuit and went to pick up
the victory. Warren Stradley rolled home in second followed by Sammons, Ken
Wallace and Mike Hughes.
