FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Dirt Racers Radio Show Ends On New Year’s Eve

Wooster, OH --- The Sunday evening December 31 edition of Dirt Racers Radio that airs each Sunday evening over WQKT 104.5 FM in Wooster, OH will be the last broadcast of the north central Ohio-based dirt track racing program. Producer and co-host Doc Lehman has decided to leave to pursue other opportunities and co-host Ryan Pearson has decided to do the same. Both also cited time demands in their personal lives as another factor in deciding to depart the show.

“We had fun doing this show, no doubt about it,” stated Lehman. “It’s been an adventurous year and a half with this show but it’s time to move on. While we originally only agreed to do the show through the end of 2005 we ended up doing another whole year and I am one who believes in not wearing out my welcome. But we both leave with nothing but appreciation for the staff and management at WQKT, particularly Mike Breckenridge who has treated us so well and has been so accommodating.”

“Doc is absolutely right, Mike Breckenridge and the staff at WQKT have treated us excellent and we appreciate their support of not only us, but also for being ardent supporters of dirt track racing for so many years and that won’t end,” added Pearson. “This is no surprise as Doc has been contemplating finishing the year out and then moving on since he had his heart attack and surgery last July. He left the door open for me to continue the show but time constraints have been a factor for me recently as well.”

While WQKT management expressed desire to see the show continue, management has extended an open door policy to Lehman and Pearson for any future endeavors to help promote dirt track racing in north central Ohio. “WQKT generously offered us the possibility to do some seasonal shows or even a few ‘special event’ shows and that right there says a lot about them,” commented Pearson. “Who knows what the future will bring, but it’s nice to see how supportive they are to the sport.”

Lehman & Pearson would like to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to all of the listeners and callers, the many guests and all of the fans, teams, promoters and sanctions for their support and interest. They would also like to extend a hearty thank you to all of the many businesses who supported the show by purchasing commercial time.

Lehman and Pearson would also like to acknowledge the support and information from Ernie & Pam Coffman and Tina Heil of Wayne County Speedway, Bob & Judi Schippers and Chuck Griffith of Lakeville Speedway and Jeff & Tammy Norris and Ed Frederick of Hilltop Speedway and their fans, teams, sponsors and staffs.

Each also thank…profusely…their wives: Carol Lehman and Stephanie Pearson.

Lehman, who served as an associate producer for the national RaceNite radio program and produced several national internet radio programs this past year, will continue working in motorsports public relations in 2007 as well as continue his work as a motorsports journalist for Area Auto Racing News, RPM Racing News, Dirt Late Model magazine, Speedway Illustrated & others. Lehman, who was inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame last August, is also working on two books.

“I have a pretty full plate for 2007 and I’m not getting any younger,” explained Lehman. “In a minor way I am still dealing with my health issues somewhat plus I have gotten used to spending a lot of time with my three grandsons. And with a fourth grandchild on the way my time will be limited. I also have a lot of catching up to do in my PR work due to my extended layoff from health issues.”

Pearson, who serves as the Chief of Police in Dalton and the husband and father of two young children, will be looking into other potential media options later in the spring. Pearson is a former Mini Stock driver and has worked as a track announcer in addition to some television projects. He also serves as a weekly reporter for the national RaceNite radio program. He has also begun working as a police trainee instructor.

“My family and job is most important first and foremost,” commented Pearson. “With my responsibilities with my job and family it will be nice to take a short break until the racing season starts. Apparently there is a racing paper interested in having me write a column covering dirt racing in this area and that is something I may look into. And I won’t rule out any future broadcast work down the road including my work on the RaceNite radio show. Like I said, who knows what the future will bring?”

Lehman, Pearson & WQKT would like to extend their warmest wishes for a Happy & Prosperous New Year to all of Dirt Racers Radio’s listeners and supporters.

Lehman Motorsports Services would also like to acknowledge the LMS clients we had in 2006 and wish them continued success in 2007. A special note of thanks has to go to the clients who had to contend with yet another of my heart attacks and subsequent heart surgery and return visits that caused havoc at LMS this season.

These clients (friends) were patient beyond belief and as a result of repeated medical problems with my heart during the summer & fall and then my daughter’s heart attack and extended hospital stay they were not served as well as they deserved or expected yet I heard not one complaint. For all of this they have my thanks and sincerest apologies.

(And an extra thanks to Mike Farr. I would go to war for Mike.)

‘All I Want For Christmas’
By Doc Lehman

With this being December, thoughts of the yuletide season usually brings about a sense and tinge of nostalgia for past Christmas seasons. With thoughts of ‘ol St. Nick and other ancillary notions upon us we thought we would survey various people involved in the world of dirt Late Model racing and ask what special memories they have of being an overly-excited kid at Christmas time and what particular present they received in their youth that still stands out in their memories today and what best exemplified their ‘perfect’ Christmas.

“I was probably eight or ten years old and it was back when they first came out with the mono-shocks bicycles. I rode that bike and rode that bike! My brother (Chris) and two or three other kids on the block had them. And we raced those things and raced those things, basically, from the time we were eight years old until we were 14 or 15 years old. That’s when I started driving Late Models.”

-STEVE FRANCIS - former WORLD 100 & DTWC winner

“I got a dirt bike for Christmas one year. I think I was around 12 years old. It was my favorite Christmas gift because it started my racing career.”

-RYAN MARKHAM-central Ohio LM star/’06 Hilltop Speedway champion

“I guess I would have to say whatever was in my Christmas stocking that was always hung on the family room by the Christmas tree. We didn’t have a fireplace. It would be loaded with all kinds of different things. Candy, money, trading cards, GI JOE’s (the real ones) and more. I can remember always going to it first thing on Christmas morning.”

-BRET EMRICK - WoO LMS Race Director

“My favorite pre-teen Christmas present was when I was 6 years old and I received an Aurora ‘Model Motoring’ race set. It had two Fords and the old steering wheel controllers. It was just part o my budding love affair with racing. My Dad and I spent countless hours racing each other. And he spent countless hours repairing the cars and track!”

-REV. BILL WAUGH - RPM Racing News columnist

“One of those electronic race tracks. It was something that I had always wanted, I suppose, because of the speed of the cars and you could build your own track. So you could change tracks, sort of like traveling from track to track.”

-BRYAN DURIG - former Late Model racer

“I would have to say that my favorite gift would have to be the two-passenger go-kart that my Mom and Dad got me for Christmas when I was nine years old. As they say big things come in small packages. Mom and Dad surprised me by placing a picture of it in a regular old Christmas card, and let's just say that I don't think I have ever jumped so high in my life! This present was unexpected, because Mom and Dad said I wasn't allowed to have a go-kart until I was at least ten years old!”

CARRI MASON - crew chief for former STARS champion John Mason

“It had to be my first erector set. I thought it was so cool to be able to build and design all those things. Especially the robot that would walk across the floor.”

STEVE CRUMBACKER - Hagerstown Speedway Race Director

“Thinking back, I would have to say it was the Christmas that I woke up to find a brand new, 50 cc Honda Mini trail dirt bike. I was not expecting it because my Dad was not a big fan of motorcycles. He thought they were too dangerous and much preferred me on four wheels instead of two. I guess he knew how bad I wanted it and finally gave in, but made me promise not to be trying anything crazy on it, and to ride it with respect. I had a lot of great times on that bike. It seemed to open up a whole new world of adventure for me as it would go so many places I could never go on my go cart.”

MIKE SWIMS - Promoter of Dixie (DA) Speedway

“I'd have to say it was a remote control car I received several years ago. I had to assemble and paint it. I was pretty excited. That car is long gone now but I still remember how I felt when I got it.”

-BRIAN BIRKHOFER - former World 100 champion

“When I was about 8 years old I got a 1/24th scale slot car set. Being an absolute racing nut then already it was the greatest gift ever. My older cousin and I set it up right away and raced for about 10 hours straight until we melted the track. I guess was hard on equipment right away.”

-JIM BERNHEISEL – ‘02 Renegade DirtCar Racing Series Rookie of the Year

“When I was six-years old Santa Claus brought me a Knight Rider Big Wheel. Prior to that I had the very humble Big Bird Big Wheel, which obviously wasn't very intimidating. So with my newfound image I challenged cousins, friends, and fierce competitors to out-duel me on a make shift race track in my dad's garage. Call it home track advantage if you want, but I was the ‘Big Wheel’ Champion of Greenwood, WV after that Christmas morning!! Although, I did get protested for having a futuristic ‘illegal wiring harness’ mounted inside the molding of my big wheel! Fortunately I was not only the owner and promoter of the racetrack but the tech inspector as well. Needless to say I wasn't deducted points or money and was only put on probation until the end of the year!”

CLINT DOLL - GottaRace.com

“The best Christmas present I had was probably when I was eight years old and my mom and dad's friends, the Don Deane family, came to our house from the north side of Indianapolis, and we had a blizzard. They and their four kids were stranded at our house for several days and we made all kinds of crafts. Us (Rayburn) girls had never done anything like that before, our ‘crafty’ things were to groove tires, and things like that. Anyway, Mrs. Deane and my mother, Judy, crafted this beautiful little sleigh out of styrofoam, and decorated it. We woke up on Christmas morning, and our beloved family cat, Mittens was asleep in it, and right next to that beautiful sleigh, was a two-foot high SESAME STREET replica. Handwritten in my mother's very distinct handwriting was a note from Santa Claus telling my sister, Carla, and myself that we had to share! I know that I cherished that little playhouse still, when on my thirteenth birthday, I got a new drill!”

KIMBERLY RAYBURN - Administration/CJ Rayburn Race Cars

“I got a 26" Schwinn bike for Christmas back in about the late 50's and it didn't take me long to take it apart and put it back together. My parents should have known back then what I was going to do for a living. I have always been in to taking stuff apart and see what makes it work and then putting it back together.”

-MIKE FARR – Genesis Racing Shocks

“I remember being five or six years old and getting a red pedal tractor for Christmas. I recall pedaling it inside his house and how my mother nearly had a heart attack whenever I’d go racing past the china cabinet.”

DICK BARTON - multi-titled champion

?My ‘all time’ favorite Christmas gift has a kid, and I remember it like it was last year, was the Hot Wheels race set. You have to remember that when I was a kid they had just started making Hot Wheels cars and racetracks and it was a big deal back then. Now the kids have so many different things it’s unbelievable. My son is 8 years old and has a PlayStation and he beats me on the NASCAR racing game! With all of the computer games that are out there now I know he would think that the Hot Wheels set would be boring, but my friends and I had a blast with it way back when.”

-RICH GARDNER – Multi-Eriez Speedway track champion

“Looking back my favorite one would have to be the screwdriver set Santa gave me when I was, I think, 10. I was forever taking my Dad's tools-when my parents saw it on the list-they agreed that it would be a great idea! Actually it was a great idea-they got put to very good use over the years. I guess being a woman it would seem quite strange that is wasn't a doll or something along those lines, but honestly, I don't think I ever got a doll as a gift. Never touched them! There we trucks, and cars and guns & cowboy hats under the tree for me. To this day I thank my parents and Santa for letting me grow to be what I am and do what I like. That's why they were all special to me.”

KAREN TEETS - DIRT LATE MODEL writer

“My favorite Christmas gift of my childhood was a riding tractor. It had rubber tires and I used to drive it up and down the driveway pretending to be Fireball Roberts & Richard Petty. I would drive it all throughout the race broadcasts on the radio and literally ran the rubber off of the wheel to the point that I was running the raw wheel on the concrete and cutting a path into the driveway. That's when my Dad gave me the black flag. Shortly thereafter he got me a go-cart.”

OZZIE ALTMAN - broadcaster & president of Victory Lane Communications

“I would have to say that my all-time favorite Christmas gift came from my brother. He bought me my first quality SLR camera. He knew I had liked photography since junior high days and we were both racing nuts, so he suggested I try and combine the two. I had had those same notions, but was just getting started in the working world and didn't have the funds to get it going. He bit the bullet and got me my first outfit. Now, nearly sixteen years later, I have enjoyed some success, made a ton of friends and made a wealth of memories that will last forever. That will always be the most thoughtful and special Christmas present I have ever received.”

TONY HAMMETT - noted racing photographer

Merry Christmas 2006 from the entire Lehman family and Lehman Motorsports Services!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Doug Drown & Craig Vosbergen’s DTWC Adventure

Wooster, OH --- Doug Drown of Wooster, OH traveled to KC Raceway in Chillicothe, OH this past weekend for the 26th Annual Dirt Track World Championship presented by Arizona Sport Shirts. Also competing as a team mate to Drown was Australian dirt Late Model star Craig Vosbergen. Drown drives the Wooster Glass Co/Poske Performance Parts/Hamlin Automotive/Malcuit Racing Engines/Mason Racin/Bert Transmission/Hoosier Tire/Lehman Motorsports Services/Genesis Racing Shocks/Slavic Custom Racing Shirts Rocket Chassis Ford Mustang #12. Vosbergen competed in a Doug Drown Racing Rocket Chassis that carried the #8.

“This past weekend went pretty good,” commented Drown, 23. “I was very happy with the way our car ran and thought that we had a car to make the show. If I wouldn't have messed up in the heat I believe we would have made the show either through the heat or at least through the B. I am really surprised how many people have came up and said that we did a great job. George Lee told me this week that I have nothing to hang my head about and that I did a really great job, so that was really great to hear from someone that I compete with week in and week out.”

“The racing at KC was once again unreal. We were able to pass all night long so the fans were treated with some great racing. It wasn't like the track was good only at the beginning of the night, I was in the third B-main and was able to finish 4th from my 15th starting spot, so the track was pretty racy all night long.”

Drown also enjoyed his time with Vosbergen and crew who spent nearly two weeks in this country.

”It was a great time with Craig and his crew,” said Drown. “They are great people and very easy going. I can't wait to work together in the future. I was kind of hesitant at first with this teaming up, but now I am glad that we did it and can't wait to do it again if they would like to team up us in the future.”

“The only disappointment is that the car Craig drove at KC had an electrical problem that we could not find all weekend and it resulted in him having to pull out of every event that he ran or else he would have defiantly had better finishing results. It makes me sick to think he came this far to have my car mess up on him like that, which I have never had an electrical problem on my cars since I have started racing so it was a new problem for me that I wasn't familiar in trying to fix.”

Vosbergen finished 12th in the Jim Dunn Memorial Non-Qualifiers Race presented by Dirt Late Model Magazine.

Doug Drown Racing will complete their season this Saturday night at Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, OH for their 1st Annual Halloween Havoc/Joel Myers Memorial Super Late Model race.

Chubzilla Runs In Front In Keystone State

Bear Lake, PA --- Chub ‘Chubzilla’ Frank and the 1* Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis team spent the weekend in his home state of Pennsylvania where he scored a win and a second place finish in two events at two tracks.

The $10,000 to win Priority Care RaceFAN 50, the biggest event in McKean County Raceway history saw Chubzilla dominate over the 59-car field and take the victory after finishing second in his heat race.

On Sunday Chubzilla traveled to Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway to finish out the rain-delayed Pittsburgher 100 sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. After leading laps 17-87 Chubzilla settled for second place at the finish after dueling with lapped cars.

"I just got stuck in lapped traffic," said Chubzilla. "I thought the lapped
car I followed into (turn one) was gonna go to the bottom and I was gonna sweep
him on the outside. So when he checked up there on the outside, I had nowhere
to go but stop on the top, and (winner Shane Clanton) just cut to the bottom and did what he had to do to take the lead.”

Chubzilla’s second-place finish kept him in title contention, pulling him within
40 points of current point leader Tim McCreadie. "Now we'll just see what happens at
Volusia. It's another 100-lapper, so anything can happen. Somebody could drop out. I
just hope it ain't us."

Up next for Chubzilla is the season-ending Gator 100 at Volusia Raceway Park in Florida October 13-14 that will close out the 2006 WoO LMS season.

Chub and The 1* team would also like to thank the following for their support and services without them we couldn’t do it. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Trevor Phillips Has Outstanding Late Model Rookie Season

Orrville, OH --- 18-year-old Trevor Phillips, a third generation driver and part of the famed Jacobs family racing dynasty, is winding down his rookie season in a dirt Late Model and along the way the young, talented racer met and exceeded his goals set forth for the 2006 racing season by being crowned the 2006 Wayne County Speedway Super Late Model Rookie of the Year. By virtue of winning the WCS rookie title Phillips will be honored at the track’s upcoming awards banquet in January and will be the recipient of a 2007 Lazer Chassis.

Phillips, a high school senior, competed this season in his Cowen Truck Lines, Bishop Collision Repair, Reliable Mold & Pattern Inc., Bert Transmission and Indy Corp sponsored Rocket Chassis/Malcuit Racing Engines #6.

Phillips started his dirt Late Model racing career in May of this year and despite missing a couple races at the beginning of the season was still able to muster an impressive 12th place finish in the final WCS point standings. Bernheisel Race Cars, the makers of the Lazer dirt Late Model chassis put up the race car at the beginning of the season for the WCS Rookie of the Year.

Phillips, a former Mini Stock driver, teamed with long time dirt Late Model veteran George Lee who coached and mentored Phillips throughout the season in an effort to shorten his learning curve. “I can’t say enough about George,” commented Phillips. “He is an excellent guy and I wouldn’t be racing a Late Model if not for him. He’s been in it so long and knows everything to do. I don’t know how to set the car up right now, and he’s helping there. He’s helping me learn where to run, when to get on the gas, he’s been helping so much.”

“It was a pleasure working with Trevor this season,” added Lee. “He’s a good young man, he has learned a lot and he has an obvious talent. I think he proved that this season as the year went on. You could see a steady progression with him and we’re happy that he was able to win the Rookie of the Year title at Wayne County Speedway. He has a bright future ahead of him and we’re looking forward to teaming with him again in 2007.”

Winning the Rookie of the Year title at WCS holds a special meaning for the friendly young gun. When one mentions heritage the word legacy also comes to mind when one considers Trevor Phillips. Phillips, the son of Jerry & Lola Phillips, grew up going racing. Literally, he had little choice.

His great-grandfather was N.E. ‘Pete’ Jacobs, the founder of Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH and for many years a well-respected car owner. His grandfather was the late Ken ‘Jake’ Jacobs, a famed star dirt track racer throughout Ohio and the surrounding region during the 1960’s and early 1970’s. Three of his uncles, Kenny, Bud & Dean, gained fame and acclaim as Sprint Car stars, and his cousins, Lee and Cody, are already forging ahead in their Sprint Car careers.

During the 2006 season Phillips competed weekly at Wayne County Speedway in addition to Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, OH. Recently Hilltop Speedway concluded their point races and Phillips was able to finish tenth in the final point standings. Phillips also competed at Lakeville Speedway for their 10th Annual American Payroll Advance Big 4 Series event.

“None of this would have been possible without first, my parents, and then of course George and his entire team, but bottom line without the tremendous generosity of our sponsors we wouldn’t have been able to accomplish anything,” commented Phillips. “I have to give a sincere thanks to Cowen Truck Lines, Bishop Collision Repair, Reliable Mold & Pattern Inc., Bert Transmission, Innovative Graphics, Real Wheels, Pro Shocks, Mason Racin, Indy Corp, Fast Lane Drive Thru, Maibach Ford, Hague Crystal Clean Water, Tiger Rear End, Malcuit Racing Engines, Afco Racing Products, Rocket Chassis, Hoosier Tire, American Racer and Blair Signs.”

“I also have to thank the terrific crew of GLR, Jeff ‘Root’ Long, Dave Hazlett, Karisa Darr, Aaron Hulett, Mark Hagen and Ed Hagen. I have learned a lot from them and they have been invaluable to not only myself but the entire GLR team.”

Phillips will conclude his 2006 season during the month of October by competing in Super Late Model races at Hilltop Speedway on October 7, 12 & 28 in addition to his first foray to the prestigious 26th Annual Dirt Track World Championship presented by Arizona Sport Shirts that will be held October 19-21 at KC Raceway in Chillicothe, OH.

The team will then concentrate on securing additional sponsorship and marketing support for the 2007 racing season in addition to launching a new website devoted to Trevor Phillips. More information will be released over the coming weeks.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

George Lee Hopes To Add To Win Total In October

Loudonville, OH --- For George “The General’ Lee of Loudonville, OH, the popular north central Ohio dirt Late Model driver is winding down his 2006 season but as he looks back, despite some bad luck early in the season, isn’t complaining about his 2006 fortunes as the veteran racer has two wins thus far in 2006 and three more chances to add to that number. Lee, 43, is about to conclude his 12th season behind the wheel of a dirt Late Model and has been competing in his Cowen Truck Line, Hague Crystal Clear Water, Bert Transmission, Mason Racin, Braswell, Hoosier Tire - HTMA, Afco Racing sponsored Rocket Chassis/Malcuit Racing Engines #21.

During the 2006 season Lee has scored two wins at Latrobe Speedway in Pennsylvania and Hilltop Speedway in Ohio. With over two-dozen dirt Late Model feature wins in several states, the 1994 Wayne County Speedway Rookie of the Year hopes to add to that total during his next three events.

“We’re tickled to death with the wins,” stated Lee. “The first part of the season didn’t start out that well, we hit a low point in the mid part of the season but we have a full head of steam right now, the crew is fired up. We’re just disappointed it’s October already. We discussed about doing some big races but we decided to stay local and support the local tracks for the rest of the year and then put it in the barn for the winter (laughs)!”

“Winning at Latrobe, I love the place, I really like it. I just wish it were 2 ½ hours closer to home. It’s a four-hour tow on a Sunday night and that’s a long drive when you get home at 5:00 AM and have to work the next morning. We do it on occasion. They had new owners this year and really worked on the track. We’ll get back there whenever our schedule allows it. We’ve had a lot of bad luck over there but that night luck was with us. So to go over there and bring home the trophy and money, that was pretty cool.”

“The race at Hilltop, that was just awesome. It was a great night. The track ended up coming to us. (Son) Adam was home on leave from the Middle East before he went to his next station at Alaska and that was the last race he was home for before he had to leave so that was special.”

Lee’s son is a captain in the U.S. Air Force. Lee is married to Sherri and they also have a daughter, Alisa, and three grandchildren.

Lee’s George Lee Racing (GLR) crew consists of Jeff ‘Root’ Long, Dave Hazlett, Karisa Darr, Aaron Hulett, Mark Hagen and Ed Hagen.

When the 2006 racing season started some changes were made as the team evolved into a two-car team with rookie driver Trevor Phillips, an 18-year-old high school senior, joining GLR. Trevor Phillips and his father, Jerry Phillips, have become a part of GLR and Lee spent the 2006 season serving as a coach and mentor to the former Mini Stock driver who took the plunge into Super Late Model racing and was able to score the 2006 Wayne County Speedway Super Late Model Rookie of the Year title.

Lee feels Phillips has the desire and understanding to get the job done with laps and time. “I met Trevor here a few years back, we parked next to each other, he was running Mini Stocks then and we took a liking to him,” explained Lee. “He has his head screwed on straight. His dad approached us about making a two-car team so we basically changed George Lee Racing to GLR now (laughs). We’re just coaching him.”

“When I started I had Danny Gardner and it doesn’t come any better. These kids starting out need someone like that and these kids need to be not afraid to walk up to these seasoned drivers and ask for advice.”

Lee is proud of what Phillips has accomplished this season at not only Wayne County Speedway but also Hilltop Speedway. “I’m excited,” said Lee. “Trevor has come a long way. He’s had some bad luck, but I’ve had bad luck. It’s part of it. It just tickles me he is so intense and he listens and does what you say. I find myself a cheerleader out there for him (laughs)! I cheerlead for him and he does the same for me. He is a good team member. He helps me on my car when I need it and we help on his when he needs it. He has come a long way and I’m really looking forward to next year.”

Lee will close out his season with three trips to Hilltop Speedway on October 7, 14 & 28 and then begin preparing for the 2007 season. Lee’s GLR team, along with Phillips, will then begin to implement an aggressive marketing and promotional campaign to secure additional sponsorship support for the 2007 racing season.

Chubzilla Scores Weekend Win

By Doc Lehman

Bear Lake, PA --- Chub ‘Chubzilla’ Frank competed up north over the holiday weekend and came away with one victory on the World of Outlaws  Late Model Series trail. Chubzilla competed in World of Outlaws Late  Model Series competition driving his Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All  Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis #1*.

Saturday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series Roberts Trucking 50  at Stateline Speedway saw Chubzilla return home where he finished sixth in his heat race and 15th in the main event.

The following evening he traveled to New York where the Bear Lake, Pa.,  star scored a convincing victory in Sunday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series Star Spangled 50 at Cayuga County Fair Speedway, giving him blow-out wins in consecutive visits to an area that’s a hot-bed of DIRT
Modified racing. “I’m starting to like coming up here,” said Chubzilla,  who dominated a WoO LMS event last August at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y.

Racing in front of a near standing-room-only crowd at DIRT MotorSports  NorthEast’s flagship track, Chubzilla, who started third, disposed of fellow tour regulars Steve Francis and Billy Moyer in a single circuit to assume command for good on lap 15. He glided away from the pack over  the remaining distance, beating Ashland, Ky.’s Francis to the finish  line by a healthy margin of 6.593 seconds.

With only a single caution flag, on lap six, slowing the race, Chubzilla  lapped all the way up to seventh-place. “When you start lapping the good guys, it’s a pretty good sign that you’re (running good),” said Frank, who earned $10,000 for his second WoO LMS victory of the season and the  sixth of his career. “You never know with these guys, but I knew I had a good car and didn’t think anybody could pass me without making a mistake.”

Chubzilla also won his heat and set fast time in qualifying.

On Monday Chubzilla traveled to the Yankee Doodle 50 at Central PA  Speedway, in Clearfield, PA. The unsanctioned race saw Chubzilla storm the field and finish a strong second in the final rundown.

Up next for Chubzilla will be a WoO LMS race at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH on Saturday July 8.
All new ‘Chubzilla’ merchandise is being produced by Ron Slavic and  Slavic Custom Shirts & Decals, the official merchandise provider of Chub Frank Racing.

CNN Presents Spotlights Chubzilla In Dirt Track Warriors

Bear Lake, PA --- Before NASCAR, high-speed race car drivers raced on dirt – and they still do. Dirt track automobile racing – an estimated billion dollar a year business with 30 million fans – is “the biggest sport you’ve never heard of,” according to the new documentary CNN Presents: Dirt Track Warriors, premiering on Saturday, July 1, at 8 p.m., with a replay at 11 p.m. Dirt Track Warriors re-airs on Sunday, July 2, at 2 a.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. All times Eastern. The new documentary spotlights Chub Frank of Bear Lake, PA who competes in his Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis #1*.

Dirt Track Warriors features exclusive access to the personal and professional lives of the drivers of lightweight, high-horsepower racing machines called “dirt late model” cars. The documentary follows racing’s Chub “Chubzilla” Frank, “bad boy” Scott Bloomquist, and teenager Josh “Kid Rocket” Richards through a season of high-speed, dirt-throwing racing, climaxing with dirt late model’s biggest prize, the World 100 at Eldora Speedway in rural Ohio.

For Dirt Track Warriors, senior producer Ted Rubenstein interviewed dirt track’s “kings” throughout the 2005 racing season and offers viewers a look at the grueling life on the dirt track circuit through heartland America, which sometimes puts great strain on the personal lives of the drivers and their families. With the eyes of the racing world on the World 100, viewers learn whether 17-year-old phenom Josh “Kid Rocket” Richards will qualify for his first World 100 competition; whether Scott Bloomquist, celebrating his 25th year in dirt track racing will win his fourth championship at Eldora; or, whether “Chubzilla” can repeat his 2004 first-place success.

CNN Presents: Dirt Track Warriors was produced by Ted Rubenstein, with field producing by Emily Probst and Jamie Hutton. Mark Nelson is vice president and senior executive producer of CNN Productions. CNN Presents is the most honored documentary program in cable news.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Special Ken ‘Jake’ Jacobs Motorhome Raffle Announced

Orrville, OH --- Race fans and others will have a chance to win their own motor home to go chasin’ racin’ by participating in a special raffle. The motor home owned by the late Ken ‘Jake’ Jacobs is being raffled off and tickets will be available beginning on Monday June 26. The 37-foot Newmar Dutch Star motor home will find a new home on September 1 when the winning raffle ticket is drawn.

The late Ken ‘Jake’ Jacobs, former racer and father of current Sprint Car racers Kenny & Dean, former champion racer Bud, and grandfather of Sprint Car drivers Lee & Cody Jacobs and dirt Late Model driver Trevor Phillips, passed away in December 2005. “Our mother really has no use for it anymore so the family decided to raffle it off,” explained daughter Lola (Jacobs) Phillips. “We’re going to focus the raffle on racing people. I’d like to see a race fan win it because the only places the motor home ever went to was to race tracks.”

Raffle tickets will be $100 each and the drawing will be held on September 1 or whenever the last ticket is sold.

Tickets will be available starting on Monday June 24 at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH at the 11th Annual Pete Jacobs Memorial Ohio Sprint Speedweek race.

“We’ll have a table set up at Wayne County Speedway selling the tickets beginning Monday,” explained Phillips. “And after that anyone who would like to purchase a raffle ticket can get them from any family member. Just stop Kenny, Dean, Bud, or any of the boys at any race track and they will have them. They will also be available by mail through Mason Racin’.”

The motor home is a 1996 Newmar Dutch Star, 37-feet with one slide out. It has 70,000 miles on it.

“That motor home has a lot of special memories and a lot of history behind it,” stated Jerry Phillips, a son-in-law. “It’s in terrific shape and well-maintained. We hope someone who loves racing like Jake did will win it.”

Those outside the area who would like to purchase a Ken ‘Jake’ Jacobs Motorhome Raffle Ticket can order them through Mason Racin’ at: P.O. Box 28, Millersburg, OH 44654 or by calling toll free: 877.572.7141. The website is located at: www.masonracin.com

In the event that all the raffle tickets are not sold by September 1st, the drawing will then become a 50/50. Of the 50% taken in all will go to the motorhome debt. Winner need not be present, but is responsible for delivery.
