With the end of 2006 just days away, seventeen year
old Andrew Hannula already has his new years resolution, and that is to chase
the 2007 United Racing Company Bar's Leaks Sprint Series Rookie of the Year
Title. From his home in Matawan, NJ, Hannula shared his excited about going URC
sprint car racing next year.
Hannula, a senior at Matawan Regional High School is making his rookie start with URC in a Maxim chassis and a Don Ott powerplant that will carry the #89H that is owned by his father. Andrew was quick to learn the importance of sponsorship and secured Dinaso & Son's Building Supply Co., Simpson Race Products, Anderson Performance and Quality Auto Body. Following high school, Andrew will be attending UNC in Charlotte to major in Mechanical Engineering with a strong concentration in motorsports.
Andrew began his career just under the age of five, competing in quarter midgets where he won over 150 races. He advanced to the Tobias Slingshots at age eleven and won six feature in the first half of the season before moving into the 270 micros. At age fifteen, he went racing with the 600 sprints and ran a wide variety of race tracks, picking up numerous heat race victories, top five finishes and one win at the Airport Speedway.
"I like how URC treats its' members and drivers and I feel that traveling every weekend to different track ,will also make me a better driver", commented the youthful rookie. Plenty of pit side help and guidance will come from Andy Anderson of Anderson Performance. "Andy Anderson will play a big part in my step up to full size sprints", commented Hannula.
Away from the race track, Andrew Hannula enjoys anything that involves speed and he enjoys watching his favorite sprint car driver, Joey Saldana.
The URC Bar's Leaks Sprint Series will open on Saturday night, April 14 followed by stops at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, April 21 and the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night, April 28. URC now has twenty-eight race dates on their schedule for 2007.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU
CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY FOR URC, THREE DRIVERS MAKE-UP TEAM 21 IN 2007
URC Driver/Owner Scott McClaren of Freehold, NJ and Bobby Brown of Farmingdale,
NJ are taking their 2007 sprint car assault very seriously in the coming season.
On any given night, as many as three cars could make-up Team 21. That's right,
McClaren plans to continue his driving efforts, but the biggest news is the
joining of Ed Aikin and Trevor Lewis to Team 21. This three car team is a
Christmas wish come true for the fans of the URC Sprint Series.
Aikin of Lincoln University, PA has earned the name, Mr. Consistency with his
smooth and steady driving style. With that said, Aikin is aggressive enough to
win features and, be a contender for the 2007 Bar's Leaks Sprint Series
Championship. In 2005, Aikin finished fourth in points, just seventy-points shot
of the runner-up spot. In 2006, Aikin was running right in the heat of the
action, but mechanical failures just followed him everywhere. With a new season
on the horizon, Aikin and car owner Scott McClaren are set for a all out effort
to chase the $10,000 cash payout to the series champion.
Returning to the URC battleground is Upper Black Eddy, PA driver Trevor Lewis.
At age 28, Lewis already has eleven career URC wins. This tall and quiet guy is
not shy on the race track, and his aspiration is a URC title as well. Lewis took
part of 2006 off, explaining. . . . "Racing requires a huge commitment and I
wanted to grow a bit in other parts of my life. With that said, I think being
away has made me even more hungry for racing".
When asked about being a URC title contender, Lewis explained, "When we put our
heads together, winning the title is possible. We just need to catch the right
breaks and be on our game every week".
For car owner Scott McClaren, what is this all about? "I wanted to put together
a strong team which will help me learn more and at a faster pace. Trevor can
help me in the long run and Ed Aikin will drill in the consistency".
If you ask Scott McClaren, Ed Aikin and Trevor Lewis what their plans are in
2007, you get the same answer. "To win races"!
It should be an interesting season as Team 21 will be in full force. Their
biggest challenger will be defending URC Champion Curt Michael, who will be
chasing his fourth consecutive URC Championship. The 60th season for the United
Racing Company will kickoff at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, April 14.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU
GUY HOWIE HIRES MICHAEL CARBER FOR 2007 URC SPRINT SEASON
The URC Bar's Leaks Sprint Series is gearing up for a great 2007 with the first
new team announcement for the coming season. URC car owner Guy Howie announced
today that Piperville, PA driver Michael Carber will pilot the familiar 19H
sprint car on the URC tour. Carber, at age 19 has fourteen years of driving
experience under his belt and a long list of accomplishments as well. His career
started in quarter midgets and advanced into the 270 and 600cc sprints before
moving into the 358 sprints where he competed in less then a dozen events. At
the end of 2005, Michael Carber ran a handful of 410 sprint features in
preparation for a full season of 410 sprints in 2006.
Carber completed the 2006 season with a pair of 410 sprint car victories and
finished fourth in points at Susquehanna, eighth in points at Lincoln Speedway
and twelfth in points at the historic Williams Grove Speedway. Those are great
results for any driver in their first season racing a 410 sprint car.
Looking to URC in 2007, Carber is well aware that there is no easy task ahead of
him. "The competition in URC is tough and I know that going into this deal".
Carber continued to say, "We can't worry about who we're racing against or the
handicapping system, we're just going to go out and try to win races".
As for car owner Guy Howie, he views his first season with URC (2006) as a
successful year. Howie finished ninth in the URC Car Owners point chase even
after missing three events which was a result of a mid-season driver change. The
highlight of 2006 for Guy came at the Rolling Wheels Raceway in October when his
car won the $3,000 to win Sprint Challenge at the Wheels with New York sprint
driver Chuck Hebing dominating the event from start to finish.
"We learned a lot this season and now we've seen all the tracks on the tour so
we'll be even better prepared in 2007", said Howie earlier today. As for the new
season, Howie added, "We will make 100% of the URC shows and we will give it our
best effort to chase the URC point title".
Guy Howie has been in the racing circles as a mechanic, car owner and driver
since 1970. Guy's biggest racing accomplishment as a driver was winning a
modified feature at the Lebanon Valley Speedway and setting a new track record
in the process.
At the race track, Howie is a rather "excitable" car owner so it's interesting
that he views Michael Carber as level headed, non-excitable, and a driver that
has high self confidence. The dynamics of this team just might have all the
hardware to get the job done in 2007.
The Howie/Carber Team will start the season with three race cars that include
two Maxim's and an Avenger Chassis all sporting a John Burnett power plant.
When the URC Sprint Series kicks off at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday,
April 14, watch for the Guy Howie and Michael Carber team to be a contender from
the drop of the first green flag.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU
CHUCK HEBING IS THE BEST OF SIXTY-EIGHT SPRINT CARS, EARNS $3,000 IN THE SPRINT
CHALLENGE AT THE WHEELS
Elbridge, NY . . . .Chuck Hebing of Ontario, NY strapped in behind the wheel of
the Guy Howie URC sprint car then drove an impressive race, dominating the field
to win the Sprint Challenge at the Wheels on Saturday night. It was a first time
ride for Hebing in the Howie owned sprint car, but he still made it look easy
leading the entire twenty-five lap feature that paid a hefty $3,000 to the
winner. Hebing had to beat a field of sixty-eight sprints cars that took part in
the Sprint Challenge at the Wheels. With the great success of this event at
Rolling Wheels Raceway, DIRT Motorsports Management confirmed that the Sprint
Challenge at the Wheels will again return in 2007 to be part of Super DIRT Week.
Six qualifying events were completed in record time with five heats going off
non-stop. Only the fourth heat had a pair of caution flags. Heat race wins went
to Brian Howland, Justin Barger, Alain Bergeron, Midge Miller, Chuck Hebing and
Trevor Lewis. A trio of "B" mains ran off non-stop win victories going to Jeff
Cook, Lance Yonge and Doug Emery.
At the start of the 25 lap Sprint Challenge at the Wheels, Chuck Hebing and Curt
Michael charged into turn one running first and second. Hebing quickly put some
distance between himself the 2006 URC Bar's Leaks/Advance Auto Parts Champion.
On lap three, the red flag was displayed for a violent flip down the backstretch
by Bobby Breen. Midge Miller and Doug Emery were also collected in the accident.
No one was injured in the crash.
On the restart, Hebing was the fastest followed by Curt Michael and a fast
closing Alain Bergeron. On lap five the yellow was displayed, this time for Cory
Sparks who tagged the homestretch wall and came to a stop.
The rest of this race would go non-stop and when green flag racing resumed,
Hebing was again the fastest. On lap nine, Bergeron passed Michael for third and
the St. Pie, Quebec driver took his turn and chasing down the leader. At the
halfway point, Hebing held a nine car length advantage over Bergeron and it
appeared, there was just no chance of catching the leader.
At the halfway mark, Hebing, Bergeron and Michael were the top three followed by
Bill Brian Jr. and George Suprick. As the race continued non-stop, the leader
managed to thread his way through lapped traffic but by lap eighteen, the top
three were now racing in a pack. On lap nineteen, Michael and his Palladino #99
passed Bergeron for second and began reeling in the leader.
With just five laps remaining, it was obvious that the lapped traffic could well
determine the outcome of this race. Michael was gaining on the leader, Bergeron
was again challenging Michael for second and now George Suprick and Justin
Barger were in the chase.
With two laps remaining, Hebing made some great moves around the slower traffic
and stretched his lead to eight car lengths. As the checker flag fell, Hebing
was the winner over Curt Michael, Alain Bergeron, George Suprick and Justin
Barger.
FEATURE FINISH: Chuck Hebing, Curt Michael, Alain Bergeron, George Suprick,

Taylor & Messick Series Continues. . . .
MARES STELLFOX IS THE CLASS OF THE FIELD, SCORES SECOND URC WIN OF 2006 SATURDAY
NIGHT AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL
DELMAR, DE . . . . . . Mares Stellfox of Prospect Park, PA retains the title as
the "first lady of URC" after a convincing victory in the twenty-five lap sprint
car feature event on Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway. For
Stellfox, her first career URC win came at the Delaware International Speedway
in 1993. After a long dry spell, Stellfox scored her second win earlier this
year on August 11 at the Penn Can Speedway. This past Saturday night, Stellfox
wrestled the lead from Tim Hogue on lap twelve and held off a late race
challenge to pocket $2,000 for the win on Taylor & Messick Night.
The Bar's Leaks/Advance Auto Parts URC Sprints attracted a field of thirty-three
with heat race victories going to Tim Hogue, Mares Stellfox and Gary Gollub. The
"B" Main event saw Greg Coverdale take the win.
In the twenty-five lap feature, Tim Hogue was the early race leader followed by
Stellfox and Gary Gollub. On a charge was Far Hills, NJ driver Kevin Welsh,
moving into fourth on lap two. On lap five, action got real wild as Junior
Martin (driving the Bar's Leaks sponsored sprinter) jumped the right rear wheel
of Greg Coverdale as the two were exiting turn four. Martin began a series of
wild flips with the car landing upside down at the flag stand. Martin was
shaken, but did climb out of his destroyed sprint car uninjured.
Following a rather long red flag, Tim Hogue continued to set the pace when green
flag racing resumed. Stellfox managed to keep Hogue in sight and began to reel
in the leader. Rookie star Davey Sammons was turning in one of his best rides,
racing in fifth on lap eleven.
As the field passed on lap twelve, Mares Stellfox became the new leader with
Hogue now running in second with Gary Gollub, Kevin Welsh and Davey Sammons
making up the top five. Also on a charge was Justin Collett who started
seventeenth and had advanced to sixth when the field crossed for the halfway
sign.
By lap eighteen, Welsh was all over Hogue in a battle for second with Collett
fourth. With five laps remaining, the top five was Stellfox, Hogue, Welsh,
Collett and Sammons.
Tim Hogue was running down the leader in an effort to challenge for the lead
just one more time. On lap twenty-two, Hogue took a run for the top spot that
just didn't work, dropping Hogue to the fifth spot. With two laps to go, this
opened the door for Kevin Welsh who was now in second in chase of the leader. In
the meantime, Collett had moved into third and on a mission to challenge for the
win.
On the final circuit, Collett moved into second but just ran out of time to
challenge Stellfox for the win. Driving the Turpin/Kennedy sprint car, Stellfox
scored an impressive win with Collette second, Kevin Welsh third, Davey Sammons
fourth with point leader Curt Michael finishing fifth.
URC FEATURE FINISH: Mares Stellfox, Justin Collett, Kevin Welsh, Davey Sammons,
Curt Michael, Tim Hogue, Gary Gollub, Mark Bitner, Kramer Williamson, Dave Ely,

CURT MICHAEL BEATS ALAIN BERGERON TO THE WIRE, POCKETS $4,000 FOR BULLY HILL
NATIONALS SPRINT WIN AT BLACK ROCK SPEEDWAY
URC's Curt Michael played the waiting game and positioned himself to be in the
right place at the right time to win the 35 lap Bully Hill Vineyards Sprint Car
Nationals on Saturday night at the Black Rock Speedway. Michael of Ocean View,
DE drove a flawless race, wheeling the Palladino owned sprint car to his sixth
win of the season and his thirty-second career URC win. Michael took the lead on
lap six then handed off the top spot to Alain Bergeron on lap fourteen. Michael
then put the pressure on for the final five laps, regaining the lead on lap
thirty-three. For the final two laps, Michael and Bergeron exchanged the lead
several times with Michael holding the advantage at the drop of the checker
flag. Michael won the race on URC's American Racer Tires.
A field of sixty-five sprint cars took part in the Bully Hill Vineyards Sprint
Nationals with Alain Bergeron setting fast time in the Empire Super Sprint
sponsored Time Trials. The Canadian Sprint Car Nationals sponsored heat race
events which were won by Jessica Zemken, Josh Weller, Danny Massey, Brian Seidel
and Dan Kaszubinski. The Mike Emhof Motorsports "D" Main saw Nick Bashford take
the win as Rich Swathout won the Gates Electric Supply "C" Main. The winner of
the Gater Racing News "B" Main was Justin Barger. Curt Michael was the winner of
the six car Slocum Milk Hauling Dash for Cash.
A shower moved into the area just prior to the "B" Main, forcing a rain delay of
over one hour. The track crew never gave up and brought back the racing surface
so the show could be completed.
In the 35 lap sprint feature, pole sitter Chuck Hebing set the pace for the
first five laps with Michael powering into the top spot on lap six. The first
caution of the night came out on lap nine with Hebing came to a stop in turn
three. On the restart, Michael was quickest into the first turn with Bergeron in
second followed by Brook Weibley and Trevor Lewis.
On lap fourteen, Bergeron caught Michael to become the third different leader of
the race. A caution on lap sixteen for Rob Dietrick slowed the field once again.
On the restart, Bergeron ran to had from the rest of the field as Michael now
had to contend with the challenges of Weibley and Lewis.
The final caution of the race was displayed on lap twenty-six for Bryan Howland
who spun in turn two. The restart saw Bergeron slip away from the field at the
drop of the green flag with Michael still fighting to stay ahead of Weibley and
Lewis.
With five laps to go, Bergeron was approaching slower traffic and Michael was
gaining on the leader. As Michael joined Bergeron in the race for the lead,
Trevor Lewis an Brook Weibley were closing on the leaders as well. On lap
thirty-three, Michael took the lead but Bergeron fought back to regain the top
spot once again. With the white flag waiving, Michael took the lead for good as
Trevor Lewis moved into the picture, but running short of time to challenge for
the win. Lewis finished third as he was looking for his third consecutive Bully
Hill National victory.

FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU
URC PLANS WINGLESS TEST & TUNE FRIDAY NIGHT, SEPTEMBER 15 AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
The fans have been asking for wingless sprint car racing and the United Racing
Company is listening. URC, our nation's oldest traveling sprint car
organization, will be offering their competitors a Wingless Test & Tune at the
Bridgeport Speedway on Friday night, September 15. And yes, this Test & Tune
session will take place on both the quarter mile and the five-eighth mile ovals
at Bridgeport. Along with many race fans, numerous URC Owners and Drivers want
the chance to remove the wings and go racing as well.
Over the past season, URC has been contacted by several track operators who are
also asking for wingless sprint car. At the present time, URC is not booking any
wingless shows for 2007, as it's a wait and see situation following the
Bridgeport Wingless Test & Tune on September 15.
In the early years of URC, the organization was wingless, but later added the
top and front wing to conform with the current day sprint cars. In the state of
Indiana, sprint car racing is pretty much exclusively all wingless racing. The
car counts are strong and the general feedback is, the cost of racing wingless
is much more affordable. The reason being that there is less down force,
extending the life of many of the high dollar car components such as the rear
and motor. For the track operators, this also means less wear on their racing
surface.
At this time, URC is not planning to transition 100% to wingless, but to
compliment their already attractive schedule with some additional shows that
would offer wingless sprint cars. Of course, this is all pending the outcome of
the September 15 Wingless Test & Tune.
The last three wingless URC sprint events took place at the Grandview Speedway
in Bechtelsville, PA. Billy Ellis was the winner on September 3, 2005, Jon
Eldreth won a wingless show on August 20, 1996 and later that year, Rick Koenig
was the winner on September 1.
It is said by many, that wingless sprint car racing will put the driver back
into the race. It's not necessarily about the speed, but the feathering of the
throttle, working this light weight high powered race car around any dirt track.
The Bridgeport Speedway URC Wingless Test & Tune is open only to URC members.
Those wishing to compete, must register by calling URC at 302-422-1508 on or
before September 14. It is critical that drivers pre-enter to best plan the
number of warm-up sessions that will take place on September 15. For URC, the
gates will open 6 PM, the show will being at 7 PM. The first warm-up session for
the wingless URC sprints will be just after 8 PM. The URC wingless sprints will
first practice on the five-eighth mile speedway, ending with practice on the
quarter mile. URC race teams will park in the backstretch pits. URC drivers,
owners and crew members will be required to pay the $25 pit fee upon entering
the pit area.
Other then the rain outs of 2006, the United Racing Company has enjoyed a great
season, delivering weekly events that pay $2,000 to the winner with minimum
earnings of $200 just to start the 25 lap main events. Sixteen events were
presented so far this year, with ten different feature winners. URC also
delivered two big events, the Shot Drop Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway and
the Jack Gunn Memorial which took place at the Selinsgrove Speedway. Both events
had open invites to the Pennsylvania 358 Sprints, attracting more then fifty
sprint cars at each event. URC developed rules that brought the 358 Sprints and
URC Sprints to a near equal playing field, without any additional costs to the
car owners.
URC will end their season on Friday, December 1st with the 59th Annual URC
Awards Banquet, and reward their championship winning team with $10,000.

URC career wins to his credit, Lewis is certainly one of the top contenders who
ever strapped into a URC sprint car. And even more special is. . . . Lewis has
the drive to win the big money events, just like the show this weekend at Black
Rock Speedway.
With more then $25,000 in purse money on the line, the best in the business of
360 sprint car racing will be hand to chase the $4,000 first place prize in the
35 lap event. Other top guns shooting for the large slice of the payoff include
Curt Michael, Kevin Welsh, Brian Seidel, Bill Brian Jr., Dave Ely, Brook
Weibley, Kramer Williamson, Scott Pursell, Greg Coverdale, Chuck Hebing, Lance
Yonge, Dan Kaszubinski, Justin Barger and Bryan Howland just to name a few.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---THANK YOU
WELLER & SAMMONS LEAD THE CHASE IN URC REWARDS PROGRAM
A $500 cash bonus is up for grabs at the URC Awards Banquet on Friday night,
December 1, and it only takes one chip to win. Throughout the 2006 racing
season, URC Drivers & Owners have earned URC Chips for making public
appearances, displaying their race cars and participating on Radio Talk Shows.
Through the end of August, twenty-four drivers or owners have participated in
the program, delivering a minimum of eighty-seven publicity showings. Josh
Weller and Rookie Driver Davey Sammons lead all competitors with 11 activities
followed by Scott Pursell (9), Curt Michael (7) and Johnny Zimmerman with six.
For each activity, the driver or owner will earn one chip. At the URC Awards
Banquet, one chip will be drawn with the winner earning a $500 cash award. It
only takes one chip to win, but a driver or owner can increase their chances by
participating in more publicity activities.
This is a great program to increase driver, team and URC awareness to the racing
community.
Other drivers and owners who took part in the program include Mares Stellfox,
Bill Gallagher, Junior Martin, Kramer Williamson, Brook Weibley, Fred Kennedy,
Mark Bitner, Randy West, Tim Hogue, Kevin Welsh, Dave Ely, Pat Palladino, Bill
Brian Jr., Brian Seidel, Justin Collett, Dave McGough, Gene Franckowiak, Chris
Coyle and Jason Clauss.
