THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES CLOSES OUT 18TH SEASON. . . . .  CHRIS COYLE, CRAIG VONDOHREN, BRYAN SIPE, RODNEY KISTLER & CHRIS  STOCKHAM SHARE GRANDVIEW THUNDER 5-25 VICTORIES SATURDAY NIGHT

With one hundred and thirty-seven race cars on hand and a big crowd of  race fans, the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series  closed out the 2007 racing season at the Grandview Speedway with the   Annual House of Thunder 5-25's andHalloween Party on Saturday night.  There were far more treats then tricks as Chris Coyle won the URC  Spooky Sprints feature, Craig VonDohren was the winner of the Nasty  NASCAR Modifieds main event, Bryan Sipe was the winner of the Looney   Late Models, as Rodney Kistler won the Rolling Thunder Legends main  event with Chris Stockham winning the 600 Modified feature event.  Another attraction during the night was rookie sprint driver Andrew  Hannula winning the five lap Fred's Trailer Parts/Valley Forge INC  URC Non-Winners Dash. The Atlantic Coast Vintage Stock Cars thrilled  the fans in their fifteen lap feature and ten go-karts from  Shellhammer's Speedway had a nice track display and toured the  Grandview Speedway for three  green flag laps. It was a great night of racing, Thunder on the Hill style with approximately one-hundred  pounds of Halloween   candy being tossed to the crowd as well as other  treats, courtesy of COMDIAL Telephone Communications.

The opening event was the Rolling Thunder Legends with Brian Weitzel  setting the early pace. Tom Mayberry was on a charge and took the  lead on lap five. Mayberry held the top spot until lap seventeen when  Tim Henry took the lead. In the closing laps, Rodney Kistler became a  contender and it became a three car race for the win. At the checker  flag, a scant fraction, Rodney took the win over Tim Henry and third  place runner Tom Mayberry. Making up the top five were Clint  Penkauskas and Jason Rochelle.

In the 600 Monster Modifieds, Joe Fanelli set the pace for the first  twelve laps with Chris Stockham taking the top spot on lap thirteen.   Once on top, Stockham maintained solid command and held off some late   race challenges from Kyle Gardner, Mike Keppler, Doug Manmiller and  Jon Higley who made up the top five.

The Looney Late Models were called to the post with Greg Hoffmaster  leading the first circuit with Bryan Sipe taking the lead on lap two.  Chuck Schutz and Brian Shuey were on the rear bumper of Sipe for most  of the race, but just could not make the pass. At the top of the  checker flag, Sipe took the win over Chuck Schultz, Kyle Merkel, Mike  Kellner and Ron Kline.

The NASTY NASCAR Modifieds then took over the one-third mile high  banked speedway. MeMe DeSantis set the pace for the first six laps  with Craig VonDohren taking the top spot on lap seven. Rick Schaffer  followed in second with Doug Manmiller racing in third. Manmiller  managed to work his way into second on lap twelve and he took a shot  at running down the leader. Duane Howard now moved into the picture  and was racing in third.. With the checker flag waiving, VonDohren  took the win over Doug Manmiller, Duane Howard, Rick Schaffer and  Terry Meitzler.

Chris Coyle of Wilmington, DE scored his second URC win on the BAR'S  Leaks Sprint Series and his seventh career Saturday night during the  running the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series 5-25's at the Grandview  Speedway. URC was one of five division taking part in the season  finale at Grandview. Coyle, took the lead on lap seventeen then ran  unchallenged to collect the $2,000 for the win.

Also on the program was the Fred's Trailer Parts/Valley Forge Inc  Non-Winner's Dash. Rookie driver Andrew Hannula took the win in the  five lap dash over Adam Gordon and Jamie Bodo.

In the twenty-five lap feature, the yellow was displayed before the  first lap was completed when JJ Grasso spun and came to a stop. The  restart saw a "no start" and the field had to try again. The green  flag flew and Jason Clauss and Brian Seidel began the battle.

Seidel took the lead and ran to hide from the rest of the field.  Clauss followed in second with Chris Coyle now in the chase.

As the field passed for the halfway sign, Coyle was now in second and  closing in on the leader. On lap seventeen, Coyle passed Seidel to  take the lead with Seidel in second followed by Clauss, Robbie  Stillwaggon and Michael Carber.

Seidel used the high groove to try and reclaim the lead but on lap  eighteen, he made contact with the wall and spun, displaying the   caution flag.

On the restart, Coyle was clearly in charge and with just five laps   remaining, Robbie Stillwaggon moved into second.

Although Coyle did get caught-up in slower traffic in the closing  laps, he was pretty much all alone at the drop of the checker flag.  Stillwaggon had a great run to finish second followed by Michael  Carber in third, Mark Bitner fourth and Trevor Lewis in fifth.

The Fred's Trailer Parts Hard charger of the night was Michael Carber  for advancing seven spots in the feature event.
