Georgetown Speedway:

Heard the track had new clay put down.

Delmar:

Dana Walker had on of his best run since returning to racing at DIS.  Matt Jester had trouble in the heats.  Johnson and Jester were hooked together in turn 2.  Johnson restarted and Jester did not not making the field.   Kenny Pettyjohn was in the Butch Warrington # 91.  The both fields may have been short but it was a hell of a race.  Lingo was superior, but he did have a little damage on the middle of the right side of the car when Whaley hit a rough spot and the car jumped up.  Lingo started 10th and had to work through the slower cars.  Great race guys!

Jeff Brown lead the feature for 9 laps until Clark took the lead going down the backstretch.  During the feature Ireland had the right front tire and all the parts with it go sailing off the car as he came off turn 4.

Jack Mullins, Jr. seems to have gotten a handle with this class in the last month.  It was Mullins 3rd win of the year.  Herb Tunis had another great finish with 2nd in a row the last two weeks.  Derrike Hill took a wild ride on lap 4.  The announcer stated Hill and Watkins made contact getting Hill loose.  One hit a tire and Hill went barrel rolling over top side of turn 1.  Everyone was okay!

George Ralph III made his debut with the red number three crate late model.  Ralph is out of Fruitland, MD and new to racing.

Passwaters had mechanical troubles in hot laps and did mot make the race.   Curt Miles, Jr. suffered a broken shock and radius bar when on the first lap cars tangled and Curt had no where to go but in the mix.

Georgetown Speedway:

Super Late Model hit the track, where Kenny Pettyjohn driving the Mid-Coastal Siding #  11 picked up the first win of the year in Late Models of the year.  Brother Mark and David finished 2nd & 3rd.

Dale Hawkins son Matt made his debut in the # 83 Hawkins Motorsports crate Modified and finished 10th.  Joseph Watson claimed the win.

Ross Robinson won the crate Late Model.  Staci Warrington former Outlaw & Kart driver made her second time in the late class to finish 5th.   She is a candidate for the Rookie of the Year from Redbud69racing.com sponsored by Scott's Chem Dry of Seaford, DE.  This weekend the Big Block Modifieds return.

Delmar:

Ricky Johnson was fast all night in BB action and had the best lap except for (URC 17.157 seconds and 104.913 MPH of Curt Michael.  Michael won the sprint feature.)  In the BB feature 2006 defending DIS track champ only got to lap 3 before he slowly rolled into the infield while in 3rd at the time.  The only other mod that could compete with Johnson was Mark Byram.

Super Late action was good although only 13 cars hit the track.  Donald Lingo, Jr. 2006 defending DIS Late Champ held the lead most of the feature.  Too many cautions plague the field and Pettyjohn took the win.  He had a good weekend with two back to back wins.

Only 15 cars showed for the Ac Delco TSS Mod crate class, but Brad Trice ran a flawless race.

The TSS Late Model crate class had the most cars with 26 on the track.  Ross Robinson was well on his way to the front at Delmar on Saturday when one of the drivers on the inside berm of the track heads out on the track right in front of the top 5 drivers.  Williamson must not have known he was coming out right in front of the leaders.  Joe Warren some how dodge the hit with Robinson, Hal Browning, Erik McKinney, sustained most of the damage.  It changed the whole out come of the race; just very lucky everyone was uninjured.

Delmarva Motorsports Park:   Not got the results yet, but Amanda Whaley took home the Mod Lite Jr. win. (daughter of Rick Whaley)  I love having all these girls driving, I wish it had been that way when I was growing up.  I driver like my dad, fast, and good.

Also sincere condolences for Walt Breeding and his family with the loss of his wife this past week.  See you at the track!
