SHORT STORY: HOWARD, KELLNER AND KEPPLER GET FEATURE WINS AT GRANDVIEW
Bechtelsville, PA May 11, 2008 . . . Three time track champion Duane Howard
drove to his third win of the season in the 30-lap NASCAR 358 Modified feature
race at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. Mike Kellner got his second win of
the early season in the 20-lap Late Model feature while Mike Keppler took the
victory in the 15-lap feature for the Xcel 600 Modifieds.
Joe Masiado set the early pace with Cliff Quinn going to the front on the 9th
circuit of the one-third-mile, banked clay oval. At ten laps Duane Howard, who
had started 14th, charged in front of the pack and that is where he stayed until
the checkered flag fell. Second went to Jeff Strunk coming from 19th followed by
Doug Manmiller, Mike Gular and Meme DeSantis coming from 27th starting spot.
Bill Henning put his Henning’s Supermarket/WNPV Radio No. 80 in front of the 24
car starting field at the drop of the green. At the seven lap marker Mike
Kellner came to the front and stayed until the final lap was run. Second spot
went to Ron Kline followed by Henning, Jon Kellner Sr. and Dean Stoudt.
The 15-lap feature for the 600 Modifieds went to Mike Keppler.
NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models and Legends will be in action this Saturday, May
17th at 7:30 pm as part of Arnold’s Karting Center Night.

HOWARD WINS THIRD, KELLNER GETS HIS SECOND WIN AND KEPPLER A FIRST WIN AT
GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 11, 2008 . . . “We are on a lucky couple of weeks,” said
Duane Howard in victory lane after winning the 30-lap NASCAR 358 Modified
feature race at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. “We have a fast car, a
good team and we will be near the front every week.”
Mike Kellner came home first for the second time this season in the 20-lap NASCAR Late Model feature and Mike Keppler won the 15-lap Xcel 600 Modified feature.
Joe Masiado was able to put his Valley Auto Parts No. 43 in front of the 29 car starting field at the start of the 30-lap Modified main event. Bobby Gunther Walsh pressured the leader for the first couple of laps with Cliff Quinn moving into second on the fourth circuit. Shawn Reimert stopped in turn one bringing out a caution and on the ninth lap restart Quinn went to the front with Duane Howard close behind.
A four car skirmish on the front stretch brought out the caution and Duane Howard, who had started 14th, took the lead on lap ten. Quickly the field was brought to a halt when young Todd Smith got upside down in a multi-car accident that eliminated Stewart Friesen, Danny Hieber and Smith.
On the restart Howard, in the BPG Racing Troyer No. 4, led the field with six time champion Craig Von Dohren in second spot.
At the 15-lap marker early leader Joe Masiado went to the pits with a flat tire bringing out a caution that closed up the field with Howard in front followed closely by VonDohren, Quinn, Doug Manmiller and John Willman.
With ten laps to go Howard still was able to set the pace with VonDohren close behind, Manmiller in third and Jeff Strunk, the point leader, in fourth having come from 19th starting spot.
VonDohren had a right rear tire go down dropping him out of second place and giving the runnerup spot to Strunk with just five laps to go.
The final laps saw Howard, who hails from nearby Oley, set the pace and lead Strunk (Mohnton) across the finish line by a comfortable margin. Doug Manmiller (Shoemakersville) finished third followed by Mike Gular (Green Lane) and Meme DeSantis (Temple) coming from 27th starting spot.
Even though Howard has won three features and Strunk has not been to victory lane Strunk is still the point leader in his quest for a seventh track title.
Bill Henning put his Henning’s Supermarket/WNPV Radio No. 80 in front of the 24 car starting field for the 20-lap Late Model feature. Eric Kauffman had problems on the first lap bringing out a caution and just two laps later Greg Hoffmaster came to a stop on the front stretch finished for the night.
At five laps Henning was still in front with young Mike Kellner right on his rear bumper. Two laps later Kellner (Lansdale) put his No. 57 in front and that is where he stayed until the finish.
Ron Kline (Salford) ran a strong second and challenged the leader but just was not strong enough to get the first spot. Early leader Henning (Lansdale) held on to grab third giving him his best finish of the season. Jon Kellner Sr. (Lansdale) finished in fourth place followed by four time Late Model champion Dean Stoudt.
Mike Keppler (Bechtelsville) took the lead at the drop of the green and led all the laps in winning the 15-lap feature for the Xcel 600 Modifieds. Dave Baldwin tried to make a race of it but settled for a comfortable second followed by Nick Mady, Eric Whitby and 14-year-old Tracy Bartik.
Qualifying heat races for the 600 Modifieds went to Kevin Gruber, Eric Whitby and Nick Mady with Dylan Stein winning the consolation.
In qualifying events for the NASCAR Late Models Bill Henning, Buddy Wharton and Mike Kellner won the heat races and Danny Snyder topped the field in the consolation race.
Modified qualifiers were won by Mike Gular, Todd Marburger, Kurt Spotts and John Willman while the consolation race victories went to Jeff Strunk and Ryan Godown.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales Hard Charger awards, worth $50 to each driver, went to Meme DeSantis in the Modifieds gaining 21 positions while Brian Shuey earned the award in Late Models gaining seven positions.
NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models will return to action on Saturday, May 17th at 7:30 p.m.. Rolling Thunder Legends stock cars will make it a tripleheader show making their third appearance of the season. Arnold’s Karting Center magazine will be the sponsor.
Coming on Wednesday, May 21st is the first of this season’s Thunder on the Hill events featuring the Keystone State Sprint Series 410 sprinters and ARDC Wingless Midgets. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
Admission for Saturday night is $13 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 thru 11 and under 6 are admitted free with a paying adult. SHORT STORY: GULAR AND R. STOUDT WIN AT GRANDVIEW
Bechtelsville, PA April 13, 2008 . . . In only his second outing with a new team
Mike Gular was able to wheel the Steve Kratz owned Banes Roofing No. 8 to
victory in the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified feature
race at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. Randy Stoudt also making a second
outing for a new team drove the Merkel Rebar No. 118 to victory in the 20-lap
NASCAR Late Model feature.
Doug Manmiller (Shoemakersville) made a strong bid for the win running
side-by-side with Gular, who calls Green Lane home, but just could not make the
pass and had to settle for second. Third spot went to Meme DeSantis (Temple)
coming from 20th starting position. Pole sitter Jason Smythe (New Berlinville)
finished fourth and six time track champion Jeff Strunk (Mohnton) grabbed fifth.
After a wild start that saw at least a dozen race cars involved in a first turn
accident Danny Snyder was able to set the pace in the early laps. Randy Stoudt
(Pottstown) charged to the front on the sixth circuit and ran away from the rest
of the field to win the 20-lap Late Model, his 43rd career win. Mike Kellner
(Lansdale) grabbed second followed by Chuck Schutz (Pottstown), Jon Kellner Sr.
(Lansdale) and Danny Snyder (East Greenville).
Saturday night racing action at Grandview Speedway will feature a tripleheader
show of NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models and Legends cars. The Dover International
Speedway promotion night will see fans winning prizes, including race tickets,
courtesy of the speedway. Racing will start at 7 pm.

MIKE GULAR AND RANDY STOUDT WIN NASCAR FEATURES AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 13, 2008 . . .Mike Gular and Doug Manmiller had fans on
the edge of their seats for most of the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All American Series
358 Modified feature race on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway. The two ran
side-by-side during much of the feature but Gular (Green Lane), at the wheel of
the Steve Kratz owned, Banes Roofing No. 8, was able to earn the victory by a
narrow margin over Manmiller.
Randy Stoudt (Pottstown) won the 20-lap feature for NASCAR Late Models with relative ease bringing the Merkel Rebar/Kochel Equipment No. 118 home ahead of second place Mike Kellner by a comfortable margin.
Jason Smythe set the pace at the start of the 30-lap Modified feature from
his pole position. However a number of cautions for accidents early saw top
runners such Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk, Danny Erb and others ending up at the
back of the pack.
At the five lap marker Cliff Quinn was in front of the field but just one lap
later he was headed to the pits and Mike Gular was the leader with Jason
Hamilton putting pressure on him.
In fact Hamilton put so much pressure on Gular that he did a 360 in
the second turn and ended up at the back of the field.
At the 10 lap marker Gular (Green Lane) had his hands full trying to hold off
Doug Manmiller while Meme DeSantis held third.
Between the tenth and twentieth lap Gular ran the high groove and Manmiller took
to the low groove. The two ran side-by-side in a battle for first place.
Duane Howard, the opening night feature winner, was having a variety of problems and a flat tire forced him to make a quick pit stop during a caution. He was able to rejoin the race but was not a factor.
The balance of the 30-lap feature had Gular holding off Man miller (Shoemakersville) in a tight battle to the finish. Gular managed to get the win by a narrow margin over Manmiller. Third spot went to Meme DeSantis (Temple). Early leader Jason Smythe (New Berlinville) settled for four while six time track champion Jeff Strunk (Mohnton) salvaged a fifth place finish.
The win moved Gular into first place in the chase for the NASCAR Whelen All American Modified Series championship. Gular, with 565 points, leads Duane Howard by 28 points.
Danny Snyder was the leader when starter Ray Kemp dropped the green for the 20-lap NASCAR Late Model feature race. However Ed Trimbur had something go wrong on his No. 707 entry and that slowed his pace bunching the field up behind him. The result was a wild accident that saw Trimbur shoot across the front straightaway with at least ten cars piling up in the first turn eliminating last week’s feature winner Brian Shuey.
Snyder was able to lead the first five laps before relinquishing the top spot to hard charging Randy Stoudt.
The final 14 laps saw Stoudt set the pace while Mike Kellner worked his way into second spot. His efforts to gain on the leader fell short and the Lansdale youngster had to settle for second. Third went to past champion Chuck Schutz (Pottstown). Jon Kellner Sr. (Lansdale) got caught up behind a lapped racer and that cost him a position giving him a fourth place finish. Danny Snyder (East Greenville) finished fifth.
Mike Kellner now leads the NASCAR Late Model point standings.
The first of four 12-lap qualifying heat races for the 358 Modifieds went to Jason Smythe. Sean Merkel won the second 12-lapper with Doug Manmiller looking very strong in his win in the third qualifier. Cliff Quinn brought his 69 News entry home first in the fourth heat. Consolation races were won by Kerry Kratz and six time track champion Jeff Strunk.
Danny Snyder topped the field in the first qualifying event of the night
for the NASCAR Late Models while Buddy Wharton topped the field in the second
ten lapper. Randy Stoudt had an easy time of it winning the third qualifier
though Chuck Schutz did come on strong at the finish. Dean Stoudt took the win
in the 8-lap consolation race that had the top eight going to the 20-lap
feature.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales Hard Charger awards, worth $50 to each driver, went
to Tommy Scheetz Jr. who came from 25th to 7th in the NASCAR Modified feature
race. In the Late Models Mike Kellner gained nine spots after starting 11th to
finish second. Though two other drivers also gained nine spots the award goes to
the highest finishing racer.
NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models will be back in action on Saturday,
April 19th at 7 pm. Legends stock cars will make it a tripleheader show and it
will be Dover International Speedway Promo Night with prizes for some lucky
fans.
There will be a pair of tickets given away for the June 1st Dover Sprint Cup
race and the May 31st Heluva Good 200 Nationwide Series race. In addition there
will be a Pit-Stop Tire Challenge to see which fan can change a tire the
fastest. A fun event.
Admission for Saturday night is $13 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 thru 11 and
under 6 are admitted free with a paying adult. There is always free parking on
the speedway grounds and fans are invited to enjoy the wide array of concessions
available at the track or are free to bring their food and refreshments.
PIT NOTES: The August 19th Thunder on the Hill Series event has been moved to August 12th. The 410 sprint cars will be replaced by Big Block Modifieds. Also appearing as part of the 5-25-lap feature show will be the 600cc Sprints, Legends, 600 Modifieds and 358 Modifieds. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m.
Another change on the schedule is that the June 14th URC and NASCAR Modified doubleheader will now be sponsored by BPG Racing. The July 26th tripleheader show (URC, Modifieds and Late Models) will be sponsored by Zuber Realty. URC Sprint events are always very popular with fans.
SEASON PASSES are still available. Ask at the front gate for information. Included in the season pass is a reserved seat for every Saturday night event this season. Those with season passes last year saved a bunch of money off the regular Saturday night ticket prices.
COMING UP IN MAY, Racer’s Roundtable, a radio show hosted by Grandview Speedway victory lane announcer Pete Knappenberger on Sunday nights (with track announcer Ernie Saxton also a part of the two hour show), will be having a contest each Saturday night in which a youngster can win a chance to go to victory lane with the Modified feature winner. We will have more details shortly.
Grandview Speedway is located on Passmore Road, just off Route 100, Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information check in at www.grandviewspeedway.com or telephone 610.754.7688.

SHORT STORY: HOWARD AND SHUEY KICK OFF 46TH SEASON OF STOCK CAR RACING AT
GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY WITH VICTORIES
BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 6, 2008.……Three time track Modified champion Duane
Howard and defending Late Model champion Brian Shuey took home opening night
victories at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night.
Howard (Oley) led every lap to win the 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All American Series
Modified feature race finishing comfortably in front of second place Danny Erb
(Boyertown). Third went to Stewart Friesen (Niagara Falls, NY) followed by Kerry
Kratz (Bechtelsville) and Jeff Strunk (Mohnton).
In the More Money Twenty for Late Models Brian Shuey (Shoemakersville) also led all the laps to claim the opening event of the season. Mike Kellner (Lansdale) tried to keep it close but had nothing for the winner at the finish and settled for second. Chuck Schutz (Pottstown) came on strong at the finish to grab third followed by Jon Kellner Sr. (Lansdale) and Rick Todorow (Quakertown).
Racing action returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, April 12th at 7
p.m. when the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models again are featured in a
doubleheader program. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m.

HOWARD AND SHUEY LEAD ALL THE LAPS IN WINNING FEATURES AT GRANDVIEW
SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 6, 2008 . . . Duane Howard and Brian Shuey made it look
fairly easy as they each won their respective feature events as Grandview
Speedway kicked off their 46th consecutive season of stock car racing on
Saturday night.
A large crowd was on hand on a very chilly night to see Howard take the lead in
the 40-lap NASCAR Whelen American Series Modified stock car feature race on the
first lap and set the pace throughout the entire event.
Driving the BPG Racing/Maverick’s Motorcycle Club No. 4 Howard survived a
couple of first lap multi-car accidents and took the lead from pole sitter
Stewart Friesen. Despite a few challenges Howard (Oley) was able to win with a
comfortable margin of victory.
The victory puts Howard in front of the NASCAR Modified standings as he shoots
for his fourth track title. Last year he lost the title to Jeff Strunk by just
one point on the final night.
“We will be here the entire season, through good and bad,” said the 42-year old racer in victory lane. He and his car owner Chad Sinon have just one goal and that is another Grandview Speedway title.
Second spot went to Danny Erb (Boyertown). Erb was able to work his way past other challengers but just seemed to have nothing left to make a serious challenge to the winner. Stewart Friesen (Niagara Falls, NY) started on the pole and stay with Howard in the early laps but dropped off the pace just slightly and that forced him to settle for third. Veteran Kerry Kratz (Bechtelsville) grabbed an impressive fourth place finish while defending six time track champion Jeff Strunk (Mohnton) had a strong effort coming from 21st starting spot to finish fifth.
Defending Late Model champion Brian Shuey (Shoemakersville) started on the pole and never gave up the top position as he easily won the More Money Twenty for NASCAR Late Models. Shuey was driving the Bob Fisher Chevrolet dealership sponsored No. 5x.
Mike Kellner, the second place finisher from Lansdale, tried a few times to challenge Shuey but his bottom of the track efforts fell short. Past champion Chuck Schutz (Pottstown) made some impressive maneuvers in the outside groove and came on strong in the final laps to finish third. All time leading Late Model feature winner Jon Kellner Sr. (Lansdale) finished fourth with Quakertown’s Rick Todorow claiming fifth.
Qualifying heat races for the Late Models were won by Brian Shuey, Jon Kellner Sr. and Rick Todorow. Actually Bill Henning crossed the finish line first in the third heat but the win was given to Todorow when Henning’s car was found to be too light and he was disqualified.
In the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modified qualifying heats the first went to Stewart Friesen in his first outing with the Norm Hansell owned No. 357. The second qualifying heat race was won by Duane Howard. Jon Kellner Sr. took the third heat and Kerry Kratz was first home in the fourth qualifier. Jeff Strunk and Ryan Godown earned feature starting spots by winning the consolation races.
The Cornerstone Auto Sales Hard Charger awards, worth $50 to each driver, went to Jeff Strunk in the NASCAR Modifieds for improving 16 positions in the Modified feature after starting 21st. Buddy Wharton earned the award in the Late Models gaining five spots. Two other drivers also gained five spots but Wharton earned the award for being the highest finisher.
NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models will be back in action on Saturday, April
12th with racing getting the green flag at 7 pm. A full series of qualifying
events will lead up to a 30-lap feature for the Modifieds and a 20-lapper for
the Late Models.
PIT NOTES: Noted award winning photographer Chris Budihas has agreed to become the official track photographer at Grandview Speedway. He replaces long time track photographer Don Marks who passed away back on March 27th.
Dover International Speedway will be presenting the first of two promotional nights at Grandview on April 19th. They will have prizes, including tickets for their June NASCAR races, for some lucky fans.
Fans are reminded that the first midweek special Thunder on the Hill Series event will take place on Wednesday, May 21. Included will be the Keystone Cup Speed Week Series 410 sprints along with the American Racing Drivers Club Wingless Midgets. The Thunder events are a co-promotion between Bob Miller and track owner Bruce Rogers.
In answer to a question that we have been asked often there will be no World of Outlaw sprint car event at Grandview Speedway this season.
Grandview Speedway is located on Passmore Road, just off Route 100,
Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information check in at

PRACTICE DAY A HUGE SUCCESS, SEASON SET TO OPEN ON APRIL 5 AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 30, 2008 . . . . The 46th consecutive season of stock
car racing gets the green flag at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway on
Saturday, April 5th at 7 pm.
Judging from the hugely successful practice day, an estimated 100 racecars in the pits and a big crowd of fans in the stands on a very chilly day this past Saturday, weekly auto racing at Grandview Speedway will be a big success.
The season opener will feature the NASCAR Modifieds (358 Modifieds) along with the NASCAR Late Models. A full series of qualifying events will lead up to a 40-lap feature for the Modifieds and a 20-lapper for the Late Models.
With $3,000 going to the winner of the Modified feature and more money being offered to the Late Models on opening night the race for the top spots should have fans on the edge of their seats all throughout the night.
A number of new talents such as Ryan Godown, Stewart Friesen, Danny Hieber and others will challenge the Grandview veterans each Saturday night. Six time Modified champions Jeff Strunk and Craig VonDohren are looking for their seventh title. Duane Howard, a three time champion who lost the title by just one point last year, is back to make it four. Past champion Terry Meitzler will be looking to have a strong season as will Mike Gular, Danny Erb, Kerry Kratz, Kevin Hirthler and a host of others.
And there is a strong field of Late Model racers looking to challenge defending champion Brian Shuey in the chase for the title. Leading feature winner Randy Stoudt has teamed up with Merkel Racing for 2008. Four time champion Dean Stoudt is back as is past champion Ron Kline, all time leading Late Model feature winner Jon Kellner Sr., Mark Malcolm, Kyle Merkel, Greg Hoffmaster and many others.
Racers are reminded to have their cars signed in to the pits by 5:30 pm for the April shows.
Stock car racing, with a variety of added attractions during the season,
will continue each Saturday night through September.

HOWARD SETS HIS SIGHTS ON GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY TITLE
Bechtelsville, PA March 26, 2008 . . . Losing the NASCAR Modified championship
at Grandview Speedway by just one point to six time champion Jeff Strunk in 2007
has been gnawing at Duane Howard all during the off season.
The three time past champion at the NASCAR sanctioned Bechtelsville speed plant has announced he and car owner Chad Sinon are returning to challenge for the lucrative NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modified title in 2008.
The talented 45-year-old veteran Modified racer will have a new Troyer
race car owned by Sinon and carry sponsorship support from BPG Racing,
Maverick’s Motorcycle Club, Breast Center Awareness, Alex’s Lemonade Stand,
Troyer Race Cars and Main Engines.
“This is a decision that we have been discussing the entire off season. We
looked at going to other tracks,” said Sinon. “It is no secret that Duane has a
preference for the bigger Bridgeport Speedway but the money is so great at
Grandview. But it all came down to that one point championship loss of last year
and the team wanting to show they can win the title.
“If we had not missed the one race at Grandview to run somewhere else last
year there just may have been a different champion.”
Long time crew chief Alan Finch will be back to keep the BPG Racing equipment in
top shape.
Howard will be racing at Big Diamond Raceway on Friday nights and then making the very short trip from his Oley, PA home to Grandview Speedway on Saturday nights.
With six time track champions Jeff Strunk and Craig VonDohren returning to action at the one-third-mile, banked clay oval along such standouts as Mike Gular, Terry Meitzler, Kevin Hirthler, Doug Manmiller and a host of others Howard will have his hands full.
Throw in newcomers such as Ryan Godown, New Yorker Stewart Friesen, Danny Hieber and a few others and Howard will definitely have to be at the “top of his game” to be a factor in the championship chase in 2008.
Howard does plan to be at the free-to-the-public practice session on Saturday, March 29th starting at noon.
The season, at Grandview, officially gets the green flag on Saturday, April 5 at 7 p.m. with the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models featured in a doubleheader. The Modifieds will top their part of the show with a 40-lap, $3,000 to win feature race while the Late Models will run in the More Money Twenty which will offer more money to the competitors.
Grandview Speedway is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in
Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information on racing events

BPG RACING IS NEW SPONSOR OF FREEDOM 76 CLASSIC, PRACTICE DAY SET FOR MARCH 29TH
BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 14, 2008 . . . The granddaddy of all area Modified
racing classics, the Freedom 76, will have a new sponsor this season.
BPG Racing, owned by successful Blue Bell, PA businessman Chad Sinon, has agreed
to take on the sponsorship of the race which offers the largest purse for
Modifieds in area racing with $20,000 going to the winner.
The BPG Racing Freedom 76 is set for Saturday, September 13.
Long time sponsor THP, a respected real estate developer, has relinquished their
sponsorship of the race.
“We do want to thank THP for their support of the event for so many years. They
were a great support of racing at Grandview,” said track promoter Bruce Rogers.
“Hopefully, when the sluggish economy is corrected, we will see THP back with
us. We wish them the best.”
BPG Racing has been fielding race cars at Grandview Speedway for several years
in addition to having cars in competition at other area tracks.
“Grandview Speedway has been good to us. We have been able to win a lot of
events there and earned some sizeable checks with the wins and the point fund
payouts,” said Sinon. “We just wanted to be able to give something back to a
track that has given us so much. We are excited about being the sponsor of this
event, a true classic in the sport.”
Sinon has also announced that he will be sponsoring a URC and NASCAR Modified
doubleheader during the season at Grandview and will also sponsor the popular
Pick 3 Contest in the weekly track magazine, the Grandview Groove.
Fans are invited to come out and see all the new race cars as they take part in
the Free-to-the-Public practice session on Saturday, March 29th at noon.
The season kicks off, officially, on Saturday, April 5th at 7 p.m. with a full
series of qualifying events for the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models topped by a
40-lapper for the Modifieds and a 20-lap feature for the Late Models. Admission
for the opening event of the 46th season of stock car racing at Grandview
Speedway will be $15.00 for adults.
All REGULAR events, including those that have the added attraction of Legends or
600 Modifieds along with the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models, will have an
adult ticket price of $13.00.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE----THANK YOU
FRED RAHMER ANNOUNCES PLANS TO RUN USAC WINGLESS SPRINT SHOW AT GRANDVIEW
TUESDAY, JUNE 3
DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR SHOW LOOKS FOR BIG NIGHT FRIDAY WITH HARMONY SPEEDWAY
REUNION . . . . . . .
The show goes on and Thursday night was no different as the Phillipsburg Mall
(Route 22 East Phillipsburg, NJ) played host to the fifth day of the IRCO
Community Credit Union Dirt Track Heroes Car Show. Many drivers turned out for
the interview session that began at 7 PM and ran to nearly closing time at 9 PM.
Fast Fred Rahmer of Salfordsville, PA was the big guest of the night. Rahmer,
one of the winningest drivers in 410 sprint car racing today, made the trip to
the Phillipsburg Mall on a night dedicated to the Thunder on the Hill Racing
Series at the Grandview Speedway. The big news of the night was a surprise
announcement that Fred Rahmer will compete in the USAC National Wingless Sprint
Tour at the Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night, June 3rd. The USAC wingless
sprints were a crowd pleaser at Grandview in 2007 and they'll be returning again
this year to thrill the fans. Rahmer is planning a big season, looking to
compete in more than one-hundred races this year and yes, he'll be at
Grandview without the wing. On Wednesday night, Billy Pauch also announced his
plans to be on the "hill" when USAC invades Grandview Speedway.
Also at the IRCO Dirt Track Heroes event was driver Brian Seidel and car owner
Guy Howie. Seidel has enjoyed much success in sprint car racing and his career
is far from over. As for Guy Howie, a former Modified driver, he's all locked
and loaded for a big season in URC. Seidel is a former URC Champion as Howie is
still looking for his first ever URC Owner Championship. Sprint drivers
Scott Pursell and Jamie Bodo were also on hand to announce their plans.
Modified hot shoe Sammy Beavers returned to the mall for the show and its
certainly obvious just how much he is enjoying this first ever event. From the
Reading Fairgrounds, Freddie Adam and Earl Derr were also on hand to salute the
fans, sign autographs and meet many new race fans.
Friday night will be dedicated to Harmony Speedway and the Harmony Speedway
Historical Night. Many Dirt Track Heroes from Harmony Speedway are expected to
fill the stage at center court at 7 PM. Be sure to check out the Harmony
Speedway display, filled with photos, restored race cars and plenty of
long tales.
What's going on the rest of the week!
