Shannon Babb Blasts to Win in 2nd Annual SuperClean Diamond Nationals
WHEATLAND, MO (May 12, 2008) - Shannon Babb can now add a Diamond Nationals victory and a diamond ring to his already impressive resume as the Mowequa, IL hotshoe led every lap en route to picking up the $40,000 paycheck.
A stellar field of 80 entries was trimmed to 26 for the 100-lap 2nd Annual Super Clean Diamond Nationals with Scott Bloomquist and Shannon Babb leading the field down to the green. Babb immediately showed his strength by powering ahead of the second place battle between Bloomquist, Moyer, and Pearson.
While a rash of early cautions kept Babb at bay, Bloomquist, Moyer, and Pearson swapped the second position back and forth, 20th-starting Steve Francis and 25th-starting Bart Hartman were slowly working their way through the field. Francis ran as high as sixth before falling into the pits and Hartman cracked the top ten before being involved in a lap 39 caution which included Jimmy Mars, Will Vaught, Michael England, and Terry Casey among others.
The restart saw Babb on the point with Pearson, Bloomquist, Scott James, and Moyer in tow. As Babb weaved in and out of lapped traffic, Pearson shadowed his every move until lap 69 when a broken j-bar forced the defending Series champion to slow on the track.
When racing resumed, Babb led Bloomquist, Moyer, Darrell Lanigan, and Jimmy Owens down to the green as Bloomquist slipped high in turn four allowing several cars to pass. Moyer then gave chase to the race-long leader over the closing laps, but was never able to chase down the driver of the Clint Bowyer Motorsports #18.
Babb was the first to cross the stripe in his Clements powered Rocket with Moyer crossing in second, Lanigan third, Owens fourth, and Steve Casebolt fifth.
"I'd just like to thank Clint Bowyer and this whole team for giving me a great race car," Babb said in victory lane. "It's awesome to get this win and I'd like to thank Forrest (Lucas) for all he does to make this event possible."
Upon the conclusion of the race, Series officials reviewed the official score sheets and revised two positions in the final rundown of the track's original electronic scoring. Darrell Lanigan, who was originally scored one lap down in eighth position, was determined to be on the lead lap, thus revising his finishing position to third place. In addition, John Blankenship was originally scored electronically in 14th place, but was later credited with a 13th place finish after a review of the official score sheets.

Carrier, James, Pearson, and Rattliff Highlight Tonight's Lucas Oil Motorsports
Hour
CORONA, CA (April 15, 2008) - Tonight at 8:00pm (EST) the Lucas Oil Motorsports
Hour returns to the airwaves of RaceTalkLive.com with an action packed line-up
featuring drivers Eddie Carrier Jr., Scott James, Earl Pearson Jr., and Justin
Rattliff as well as Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Technical Director AJ
Bingham.
Salt Rock, WV's Eddie Carrier Jr. is the most recent Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series winner, narrowly taking Saturday night's "Glockner 50" at K-C Raceway. An
incredible battle between Carrier, Scott Bloomquist, and Bart Hartman saw a
remarkable 10 "official" lead changes in the first 32 laps of the race. The
defending Hillbilly 100 champion then fended off Bloomquist to lead the final 17
laps and put the Carl Grover owned #28 in victory lane. Carrier Jr. will join
the broadcast to discuss his Series win and his plans for the rest of 2008.
Scott James will also come on the show to talk about his roller coaster season
in 2008. "The Silver Shark" notched his only Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
top 10 finish of this season on Friday, April 4th at Screven Motor Speedway when
he rolled the Jam-Pow Motorsports #83 into winner's circle. Last year's
runner-up in points will talk about his up and down season as well as look ahead
to the rest of 2008.
Four time and defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion Earl Pearson
Jr. will join the program to discuss his "Drive for Five" and talk about his
dramatic Series win at Golden Isles Speedway where he passed Scott Bloomquist on
the final lap to pick up the victory. Pearson, who currently leads the 2008
Series standings, will also talk about how his wreck at Volusia has changed the
sport's outlook on safety.
Campbellsville, KY's Justin Rattliff will close out the show. The defending
Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year currently sits 5th in the
overall points standings, less than 100 points behind leader Pearson. "The
Rattler" has five top 10's with the Series this year, including a runner-up
finish in the Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown Speedway.
Also joining the broadcast will be Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Technical
Director AJ Bingham. Bingham, a native of Hope, IN, will talk about the duties
of a Technical Director and the difficulties he encounters each and every night
at the track.

Eddie Carrier Jr. the King of K-C Raceway; Veteran Driver Wins Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series "Glockner 50"
Chillicothe, OH (April 12, 2008)- Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, WV raced into
the lead on lap 31 and then withstood the challenges of Scott Bloomquist as he
captured the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Glockner 50"on Saturday Night at
K-C Raceway. In a race slowed by 12 cautions the race for the lead lasted all 50
laps as Carrier pocketed $10,000 for himself and car owner Carl Grover before
the cameras of SPEED Channel who was on hand to tape the event. Bloomquist
finished in second followed by John Blankenship, Billy Drake and Earl Pearson
Jr.
Carrier who started alongside Bloomquist on the front row of the race fell back
to as far as fourth in running order at one point charged into the second spot
on lap 30 just one circuit before he overtook Bloomquist for the lead. The two
drivers ran distinctive grooves over the final 20 laps running side by side on
several occasions until Carrier was able to open enough breathing room as he had
to hold off a last lap Bloomquist charge that fell just short at the finish

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Glockner 50" at K-C Raceway is Still a GO for
Saturday Night, April 12
CORONA, CA (April 11, 2008) - "Yes we are going to race on Saturday," those were
the words that race fans and drivers were waiting to hear from K-C Raceway
promoter, Jimmy Nier whose track hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
$10,000 to win "Glockner 50" this Saturday Night, April 12th.
Rain passed through the area Thursday Night and Friday, but the prospects for
racing Saturday Night at K-C have improved over the last several hours. "For
fans and drivers driving a distance, it looks good at this point; I see no
reason why we won't race on Saturday. It looks like the rain has passed us and
is moving out." said Nier.
There was a large turnout of people at Glockner Toyota in Portsmouth, OH on
Friday afternoon as Zanesville, OH native and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
competitor Bart Hartman enjoyed a meet and greet session with the fans. Radio
station WPAY 104.1 was on hand for the event as they did a live remote from
Glockner Toyota.
"Jimmy Nier, his staff and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are looking
forward to Saturday Night's show. We will have SPEED TV on hand to tape the
event and fans and drivers can look forward to another well run show by everyone
involved," commented Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Director, Ritchie Lewis.
Owner and Promoter Jim Nier, who took over the track after one event in 2002 has
done a lot of work to the facility over the off-season. "We've put a lot of work
into the facility this winter when the weather permitted. We've added additional
lighting to the track, added some clay, remodeled the pit concessions, and
purchased some new equipment in an effort to make this year our best yet. We are
looking forward to seeing the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race at K-C on
April 12 and I'm sure it's going to be very exciting," said Nier, who still
races a sprint car on occasions when his busy schedule permits.
In 2005 K-C Raceway also became the host to one of dirt late model racings'
crown jewel events as Carl Short brought his "Dirt Track World Championship"
race to K-C. The annual $50,000 to win event has become a must see over the
years for race fans and Saturday's visit by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
gives drivers additional track time on the high banks leading up to the annual
October showcase event.
The series trip to K-C featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be
the next event that 20 drivers will be eligible for the "Winners Circle Program"
and the "Jasper Engines Road to Wheatland bonus monies. This is an incentive
program that will pay the top ten drivers in the 2008 Championship Points an
extra $600 each with perfect attendance throughout 2008. The "Jasper Engines
Road to Wheatland" Program will also pay an additional $600 to each of the ten
highest points drivers from the final 2007 Championship Points standings that
follow the Road to Wheatland with perfect attendance but are not in the current
top ten in points. The SuperClean "Diamond Nationals" at Lucas Oil Speedway in
Wheatland, MO is slated for May 9th and 10th and will pay $40,000 to win this
year.
On Saturday April 12th at K-C pit gates will open at 4:00 pm with grandstand
gates opening at 4:30 PM. Hot laps are set to begin at 6:30 PM with PRC Time
Trials for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to start at 7:00 PM. General
grandstand admission will be $25 with children ages 7-12 admitted for $5 with
kids 5 and under free. Pit passes will be $35.

miles off of Blain Highway in Alma, OH. For more information you can visit
www.kc-raceway.com or call the

CORONA, CA (April 10, 2008) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolls into
Jim Nier's K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, OH for the $10,000 to win "Glockner 50"
this Saturday Night, April 12th and four drivers from the Buckeye State who are

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series last visited K-C Raceway back in 2005 and
with Saturday's return engagement nearing Bart Hartman of Zanesville, Oh, Donnie
Moran of Dresden, OH, Wayne Chinn of Bradford, OH and John Mason of Millersburg,
OH look to break through with a victory lane celebration before the cameras of
SPEED Channel who will be on hand to tape the event.
Hartman, who is in his first season of following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series tour comes into K-C the highest ranked Ohio driver in points. Hartman
currently runs fifth in the championship points standings as he sits behind
points leader, Terry Casey of New London, WI, three-time champion, Earl Pearson
Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, reigning Eldora Dream winner Steve Casebolt of
Richmond, IN and 2007 LOLMDS "Rookie of the Year" Justin Rattliff of
Campbellsville, KY.
Moran, who won the last time the series raced at K-C will be on hand seeking to
end a streak that dates back to September 18, 2005 when he won the "Pittsburgher
100" that's the last time he won a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event.
Moran, who has finished third (twice) and fourth place (last year) in the Lucas
Oil Series Championship Points Standings comes into this weekend's race at K-C

Chinn, who has hit the road with the Lucas Oil series in '08, rests just outside

Mason, whom like Hartman and Moran is a former Dirt Track World Championship

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Returns to K-C Raceway April 12th Brownstown
Tidbits
CORONA, CA (April 8, 2008) - What better way to kick off your 2008 racing season
than hosting a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event? Jim Nier of K-C Raceway
in Chillicothe, OH can attest as he owns "Ohio's Fastest 3/8ths Mile High Banked
Dirt Track" that will host the touring pros of the Lucas Oil Series on Saturday
Night, April 12th.
K-C Raceway had scheduled to open the new campaign on March 29th, but two
straight cancellations due to persistent wet grounds have laid the groundwork
for the track's opening event this year to be the "Glockner 50" featuring a
complete $10,000 to win show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series which will

BROWNSTOWN TIDBITS:
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series paid a visit to the Brownstown Speedway in
Brownstown, IN back on March 29th for the 11th Annual "Indiana Icebreaker" which
drew 61 entries to the Tim Keithley promoted facility. Despite nearly 20 inches
of rain and snow in the one month period leading up to the race Keithley and his
crew did an outstanding job of getting the track prepared to race on for the
Icebreaker which produced some outstanding racing especially in the 50-lap main
event which saw winner Terry Casey of New London, WI come from 16th starting
spot to notch his second career series victory and his second ever $10,000 win.
The series returns to Brownstown on September 19th and 20th for the 29th Annual
"Jackson 100" which this year pays a record-setting $20,000 to win.
CASEBOLT HARD CHARGER: Reigning Eldora Dream winner and Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series regular Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN was suffering through a
terrible night leading up to the main event at Brownstown. Casebolt, who
finished third in last year's championship points standings, had to take a
provisional to make a tough-starting lineup. Casebolt displayed plenty of
patience early on in the event racing his way up to a fifth place finish to earn
the PBM/Erson Cams "Hard Charger of the Race."
INDIANA WELL REPRESENTED IN ICEBREAKER: A third of the starting lineup for the
11th Annual "Indiana Icebreaker" was made up of drivers from the Hoosier State.
Indiana has always been a hotbed of driving talent as Casebolt, Scott James, Don
O'Neal, John Gill, Steve Barnett, Rohn Moon, Kevin Claycomb and Cody Mahoney all

Hurricane blows through Golden Isles with Last Lap Pass
BRUNSWICK, GA (April 6, 2008) - Earl Pearson Jr., of Jacksonville, FL, started
ninth and led just one lap en route to claiming the $10,000 feature win. Scott
Bloomquist, of Mooresburg, TN, led 49 laps of 50, only to finish second in the
final rundown. Steve Casebolt, of Richmond, IN, finished third after battling
the final few laps with eventual race winner Earl Pearson Jr.
Bloomquist, who started outside of the first row alongside Terry Casey, jumped
out to an early lead on the start. Bloomquist led much of the early half of the
race with little pressure. Around halfway he began to fend off challenges from
Jacksonville's Jason Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald took advantage of heavy lap traffic
to apply pressure on Bloomquist. On lap 28, the first caution flew for
Crossville, TN's Randy Weaver, who pulled up lame atop turn two.
Fitzgerald chose the inside of the second row for the 'Dixie/Delaware' Double
File Restart. Casebolt, who was running third at the time, was forced to restart
outside of the second row. On the restart Casebolt moved by Fitzgerald while
Bloomquist began to extend his lead as Casebolt tried to chase him down.
With only twelve laps remaining, the second of only two cautions, waved over the
field for Guyton, GA's Shane Riner, who looped his mount in turn four. This
allowed the field to close on Bloomquist. The ensuing Double File Restart saw
Casebolt choose the top, forcing third place Fitzgerald to the inside.
As the green waved, Casebolt charged into turn one, showing Bloomquist his nose.
Bloomquist held off the challenge. Pearson, who was now fourth, moved by
Fitzgerald on lap 39 and set his sights on Casebolt. Casebolt tried several
different lines to move by Bloomquist, but every time it was to no avail.
With only two laps remaining, Pearson moved by Casebolt on the outside, and
began to try and eat into the ten car-length lead that Bloomquist had. As the
field came to the white flag, the crowd was on its feet as Pearson had closed to
the rear deck lid of the race leader. Bloomquist entered turn one hugging the
bottom line, and Pearson used the top. With the momentum of the top, Pearson
catapulted into the lead down the backstretch. Pearson exited turn four to the
sight of the checkered flag and the sound of the crowd as he went on to claim
the win ahead of Bloomquist.
"It feels great to come here and win in front of this amazing crowd. I cut my
teeth at this track and to come here and pass Scott Bloomquist is awesome,"
stated an elated Pearson in victory lane.
Pearson's Bobby Labonte Racing MasterSbilt Chassis is powered by a Larry Wallace
Race Engine, and is sponsored by Life Long Locks and Lucas Oil.
