The Late Model feature was a hot one! As Randy Jackson from American Idol says " We got a hot one up in here tonight" What a great action race with passing and some great side by side racing with all the front runners, which was half the field. They were three wide on the start with Elliott, K Pettyjohn, and Rob Schirmer. Then wide down the backstretch and 3/4 wide in turn 3 with KP, Lou Johnson, Donald Lingo, Jr., and rob Massey. Elliott started 10th and worked the outside gaining spots each lap and so was KP, Lingo, and Johnson. At half way KP moved to 2nd, the top 8 battled and what a show it was.
Donald Lingo had one of his best runs to finish, Johnson, Gary Simpson, and KP, David Hill, all swapped places throughout the entire 20 laps. Simpson has continued to be a force in his first year of driving Late Model.
Ricky Elliott forego the visit to Clary's this week to do some testing at DIS. It may have just paid off as he won the feature.
Also, HATS OFF to Kenny Pettyjohn for winning his 100th race at DIS the week before.
