Mighty Winged URC Sprints made their first appearance for this year with 35 cars taking the 25 spots to race.  The track was great last night, slick but still a little tacky or spongey.   3 heats taking 6 cars in each heat and the B Main took 6 cars.   Great show by everyone in the feature really switching up with action in the top 10 sprints.

Kramer Williamson ran a qualifying lap of 17.039 seconds and 105.64 MPH and was almost  half track length ahead of everyone.  The way he was rolling with 25 laps for a heat he may have just lapped the whole field.

Williamson started on the pole, with Mike Haggenbottom, Midge Miller, Bill Brian, Jr., Jon Eldreth 25.  Both Brain Seidel, and Jason Clauss had some mechanical problems bringing out the yellow twice on lap 3 and 4.  It was a single file restart the second restart as Eldreth and Brian battle for 3rd.  By lap 5 defending 2005 URC Champion Curt Michael had moved into 5th after starting 11th.

A lot of change ups this year.  Haggenbottom returned back to a URC in the # 54 6 Bostic

Brain Seidel is now driving the bright green #5G.  Greg Coverdale returned to the series this year and driving Bostic #6 (Seidel old seat) seat this year after racing in a asphalt division.  .  A few guys I have not seen before were Will Urkuski 14, Adam Gordon 2W, Brook Weibly 56, and Jamie Bodo 21B.  Trevor Lewis was in # 56 last year and Kevin Welsh was in # 2W.  Chris Coyle is in the # 92 instead of the # 54.

Rookies this year are Davey Sammons* coming from 600cc Micros to the more power of the URC Series, as Rob Stillwagon* 89, Jeff Fithian* 54P are to rookies.

Special thanks to Davey Sammons for doing an interview on RaceNight live radio & internet show available at www.racetalklive.com.
