Norman Short broke a shock tower in the feature while running 4th. Bobby Wilkins was behind the wheel tonight.
Mark Byram will now be the driver of the #55 Keith Coulbourne Mod. Donny Radd had been driving the #55 this year , but both had different direction in which way they wanted to go for the future and so mutually agreed to part now. Just as Will Brown and H. J. Bunting parted a little while back. It was not a problem of performance, just different goals. We all know that happens in racing all the time, look at NASCAR. Jeremy Mayfield and Ray Everham although it may not have been a agreed parting.
Joe Dekutoski returned Saturday to run in the clay with #100J.

Gary Simpson finally picked up his first career win in Super Late Models, I say finally because Simpson has been a threat all season. Simpson started this season full Late Model after driving Big Block Modified's for some years. Simpson has just about had a top five finish every week. For first year in this class, he has been supreme driving and been a force with all features.
Lou Johnson finished 4th but could not make it to the scales when the A-Arm broke and he had to be towed to the scale.
The feature was a non-stop caution free 20 laps with a 6.52 mins. event. It was a good race, Simpson starting leading on lap 4 and was gone way out front once there. But lurking behind were strong cars as well, but he pulled off an excellent race.
