This was the first win for Glen Reed in ten years and one week, as the last win was August 25, 1997.
Ricky Johnson finished fourth after starting last in the feature.
This was the first time for Rick Wegner #22 came to DIS and suffered a violent crash at the end of the heat. His car dug in and he went flying in the air end over end. He was okay.
Norman Short had a axle break. Dale Hawkins was a crash and on the hook. VanGorder also had troubles and ending his night early.
Skip Syester was injured shortly after reaching the track. From my
sources, he did break his pelvis. This is what the facts I was given.
When he opened the trailer back door a cable broke and the door came down on
him. He was in a pike stance (L turn the letter upside down for the position).
It took all they could do to lift the door off of him. The Snookie or someone
pulled him out from under the door. He was coherent, vitals were good, he was
alert. Then he was taken to PRMC, where he was diagnosed with a broken pelvis.
Prayers and thoughts to Skip and the family for a speedy recovery.

This was the first win this year for David Hill, which is rarely that he has not gotten a win before now. A streak of bad luck has loomed the team all season.
Dave Hertz (he was at the track, but not the car) car was late getting to the track and missed the heats and hot laps causing him to start last without ever taking the car to the track and finishes 6th in the feature. The team discovered a oil line or something in that area just before they left. Which was better to happen now, rather that once the car was here.
Ross Robinson had some mechanical problems and the heats and prevented him to start in the feature.

The last few laps the top 4 cars were fender to fender, and wheel to wheel leaning on each other to the finish. Watson and Wagner drove side by side for more than half the laps for the lead.
Mark Cashdan was running pretty good when the right rear wheel came flying off the car, due to a broken axel.
Tony Daisey and Jeff Wheatley both suffered mechanical woes early in the feature.
