DRIVER SPOTLIGHT - MARCH 27, 2006 - JACK MULLINS, JR
Jack Mullins, Jr. of Seaford, DE, drives the #1 Skipjack's Restaurant & Bar AC Delco TSS Modified Class at Delmar International Speedway. Jack said "I started racing around 2 years ago at 22 years old and 2006 will be my third year." He started watching and listening to his Uncle Craig; whose a four time Delmar Modified Track Champion himself and really got interested then. Jack has a younger brother, Andrew, that races in Micro's at Middleford Speedway. Jack has never raced at any other track and Delmar is his favorite.
He hasn't won a championship in those two years but finished fifth his Rookie year and second in 2005. But his goal he has set for himself and hopes this year he can claim the AC Delco Championship, and as many wins as he can get. Jack said he would like to win a race at Bridgeport to put under his belt, too.
He doesn't have a crew like some teams. His sponsors are Bi-Rite Auto Sales. His Expectations this year is to win races. Although Jack has any other tracks to compare to, but likes his track dry and slick which it makes for slower racing. Jack said the first win meant the most to him so far. He has had twelve feature wins at DIS in the two years. Jack said he contributed to the 2005 funds raiser for Katrina victims held at DIS. He said it feels awesome to win a race and hopes to win a lot. Good Luck Jack! I'll be watching from turn four!

Emma’s Driver Spotlight Of The Week: Jesse Hill
Sitting in line last night May 8, 2004, I was waiting to get into the track. I got a chance to talk to a young driver from Barnsboro, NJ. His Name is Jessie Hill and he is the Modified Driver of the Big Block Modified number 99H. Jesse, started racing at the age of sixteen. Last season he ran a half of the season at the Delaware International Speedway and this year he plans to run a full season there.
Emma- I asked how did you get into racing? Jesse said, "By my Father and my Grandfather." Jesse has not drove at any other track but DIS, and that's just fine as he likes the Delaware International Speedway. Jesse would always like to drive a Modified, he said. Jesse said, "he wanted to thank his crew of Bill Hill, Travis Hill , and Richard Young, without them I just couldn't do this." Jesse also wants to thank his sponsors of Dream House Windows, and RP Insurance.
Jesse expectations are to win some races in the nearing future.
Emma- I asked how do you compare this track to other tracks?
Jesse- Well, this is the only track I have run on so far and I like it. He said it don't matter I like them all. Jesse is hoping for that first win; he likes to race and it always has a learning experience. Right now he is fifteenth in points and his best speed was 83.795 MPH and his best lap time was 21.481 second.
So we need to keep our eyes on this young man because he's got the desire to go to the front. My next Profile will on Robert Dutton the Number 888 Modified.

He ran in that class for twelve years. He had four wins and also won the Championship in 1993 in that class. Miles Construction, Milts Lawn Care, Bishop's Backhoe and Plumbing, Clear View Farms, Dover Plumbing & Supply, Matco Tools, Gray Gas, Towers Concrete, Hastings Garage, Doug's Tire Service, and Northern Chesapeake Construction. Rick would like to thank the fans for coming to the races every week to watch them do what they like to do. I would like to thank them for talking to me; and wish them all good luck the rest of this racing season. Rick will get that Championship win.
I would like to thank all the drivers for the shows they put on each week. Next week, I will be looking up another Mod-Lite driver. As it will be time to do one of them again, then it will be a Street Modified driver, and at the end of the month I will be doing a URC Sprint driver profile.

Emma’s Driver Spotlight Of The Week: Robert Dutton
This is on the Robert Dutton, the driver of the number 888 Big Block Modified. He lives in Milford, DE and he is engaged to a nice lady named Tracy.
Robert is a second generation driver also. Robert started racing at the age of fifteen in go-Karts where he had 30 to 40 wins which is quite a record. He has been racing for 17 yrs. He has raced at Delmar (DIS), Georgetown Speedway, Bridgeport Speedway, the Harrington Fairgrounds, Grandview Speedway, Hagerstown Speedway and Susquehanna Speedway. Wow! What a list for a young driver who has not won any championships but, he hopes to in the future.
Robert's favorite track was Harrington Fairgrounds and they did have some great races there back in the days. Or it was until the track became to dangerous for the guys to run on. I imagine due to the raising horsepower and speeds to racing today, the track just cna't handle those fast cars now a days.
His Crew is his Dad, Tracy his girlfriend ,Wayne, Skip, Mike, Ted, Ear-net. Roberts' sponsors are Macey Trucking, Little D Trucking, Johnson's Body Shop, Snookies Speed Parts, and Tracy. Some of Robert's goals he wants to accomplish would like to learn more about the sport. To prove myself to the fans and to win some races.
Robert said, "I like a high bank track because they are faster. A tacky or dry track is slower. I like the Delmar track."
Emma asked, "What was your most important win?" Robert said, "The most important race win would be my first one. I really would like to win on any track that I raced on. I would like to thank all the fans that come out on Saturday Nights to support us and we will try to get that win."
Robert's car is a Bicknell Chevy with a .468 motor. Thanks to all
the racing fans and drivers. See you at the races!
